[SOLVED] Chivalry wont launch



  • My game for what ever reason wont launch, i’ve verified the integrity, tried to launch from the original UDK.exe. I’ve uninstalled and re installed, launched as admin. really not sure what else i can do :/

  • Try this. Delete this folder then restart steam. If that doesn’t work come back here and post your log file.

    THE WHOLE FOLDER

    i tried to re-delete that folder again and it continues to crash.

  • Weird… Ok so let me get this straight. It worked. You closed the game then tried to relaunch the game and it didn’t work?

    2 Things. Did you try restarting steam when it didn’t work?
    And when you deleted the fold again did you restart steam again?

    I actually just re-deleted it again and restarted steam (along with my PC) and im still getting the same problem :/

    Give it a try. I will get the hedgehog to look through that log file. Hopefully this works.

  • Check back a little later. The hedgehog is better at log files. I’m sure he has a better suggestion.

    Is it still hard crashing (UDK.exe has stopped responding) or just hanging at the black screen?

    Please attach your DxDiag.txt and the latest .dmp file if it is hard crashing (same location as Launch.log).



  • okay so its very weird I haven’t changed or done anything different than yesterday. ( my computer has been running all night ) I went to attempt to launch chivalry and to my surprise it actually launched! How ever after playing for about an hour I got off and when i came back to try and play again I continued to get the same errors ive been getting earlier.

    So its still hard crashing.

    EDIT: On another note ive played over 100 + hours in the game and haven’t had any problems up until a few days ago.

    okay so its very weird I haven’t changed or done anything different than yesterday. ( my computer has been running all night ) I went to attempt to launch chivalry and to my surprise it actually launched! How ever after playing for about an hour I got off and when i came back to try and play again I continued to get the same errors ive been getting earlier.

    So its still hard crashing.

    EDIT: On another note ive played over 100 + hours in the game and haven’t had any problems up until a few days ago.

    EDIT 2: Vq.| Kimiko

    Go to My Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare\UDKGame\Config\UDKEngine.ini and delete
    Suppress=DevNet
    Suppress=DevOnline

    Tried that no luck. :/

    Close Teamspeak 3 and try again. The TS3 overlay is causing it to crash.



  • Seems likes thats it, still dont get why it started now because ive always had TS / the overlay on. weird. but regardless thank you! its funny something so small was causing that problem.

    everything works as of now.
