Implement guard crush mechanic on weapons
Weapons would have both a guard crush value and a resistance value. Obviously these would combine for the intended effect…
Maul + Hunting knife = guard crushed
Maul + Short sword = differential not large enough to cause guard crush effect
Or just something. It honestly just feels and looks goofy in chivalry when an archer blocks your two-handed maul overhead with an 8 inch dagger. Out of all the community suggestions this is the most common one I see reiterated over and over. Archers are far too deadly in close combat and this would even the stakes significantly, but it’s not even so much about balance as it is not looking f’in ridiculous.
