Ports and Queryport

  • I am starting my server with the following in a .bat file.

    @start UDK.exe AOCFFA-Arena3_P?steamsockets -dedicated=true -seekfreeloadingserver -multihome= -Port=7777 -QueryPort=7778

    The server runs fine, shows up in browser and is joinable. However, I can’t add my server to Game Monitor. This got me thinking. When adding, it stays on Querying “IP/queryport”.

    I have the QueryPort at 7778 in the code above. Do I need to edit anything in the config files? When I look at the PCServer-UDKEngine file there is a line with “QueryPort=27015”. What should I do?

  • There is the default port of 7777.
    Which is followed by the peer port 7778(No idea what the peer port is btw).
    The query port should indeed be 27015.
    It runs stuck on the query port because it’s already in use by your peer port.
    Change the query port to 7779 and it might work, or you could keep the default 3 ports.

    Main port: 7777
    Peer Port: 7778
    Query Port: 27015

  • The gamemonitor website’s library for querying Steam servers is wrong. They only report the query port as that is all that you need for Source Engine games.

    I’ve played with their library before.
