Unable to join game - tried all suggestions



  • Hi,

    When I try to join a game, the server list shows up as empty. And yes I have tried all of the suggestions here: viewtopic.php?f=69&t=3136 and other suggestions on the forums (such as ensuring game speed is set to 100%, etc.)

    I am still unable to see any games and this is really frustrating. To give some more context to my problem I have added some additional details

    When I go into server list, I can highlight different rows/servers but can’t really see anything about. I can right click the highlighted server (who info such as name, ping, players, etc. is still not visible) and see the four options (Connect, View Server Info, Refresh and Add to Favorites). When I press connect nothing happens and when I press View Server Info the whole game crashes.

    Also if I quit the game by going to main menu and selecting quit, the game does not actually quit but the UDK.exe continues to run in the background. That is why if you go to my steam profile you will see I have almost 50 hours put into that game yet I have never ever played it. The game just runs until I go into Task Manager and cancel the UDK.exe process. The only legitimate way to exit the game for me is to go into server list and select view server info which causes a crash.

    I am really frustrated that no matter where I have looked online, no one seems to be getting this sort of error. I desperately want to be able to play this game so my money does not go to waste.



  • Please remove the line “Suppress=DevOnline” from your UDKEngine.ini (Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare\UDKGame\Config) then start the game and sit on the server browser for 5-10 minutes. Then exit the game cleanly and attach your Launch.log (Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare\UDKGame\Logs) in a reply here.

    Looks like you were only waiting about 20 seconds on the server browser, but it’s fine. Now that I think about it, it’s limited to 20 seconds anyway lol. You can change that in the UDKEngine.ini. You are getting at least some responses from servers. I’d recommend trying one more time to change the game speed filter to anything BUT 100% and then change it back to 100%. Can you connect manually to servers? Try clicking the links here to automatically launch the game and connect to them: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7082

    I can connect to a server if I go to the thread you posted and clicking a link. I tried the first link and no one was in the game. I am gonna try to connect to other servers and see if I can join a server with people in it.
    Is there a way to join servers without going through that thread, so I can see population/latency and such info to join proper servers

    I’m not sure why servers are not showing up in your browser then… you are getting the information according to your log. I can only say that a filter is preventing them from showing up. Ping filter? Region filter? Name filter?

    There will be in the near future. I’m programming a Java based server browser that will give player counts and pings with links that launch the game and connect to the servers like in that post :)

    Just gotta finish it… Working on a highly customized statistics saving version for the devs first though. After I finish that, I can finish the version for normal players.

    I am awaiting anxiously for that browser. I need to decapitate people ASAP :P

    It works right now, but it doesn’t have server filters hooked up yet… So if you just want to get ALL the servers, I can give it out to ya now. You can still sort by ping, game mode, etc.
