Maplist changes

  • I have added a maplist of only these maps below and now it seems all the maps are now playing thru?

    What did I do wrong?

    here is what I want it to play only:

    AOCTO-Battlegrounds_v3_P.udk
    AOCCTF-Ruins_P
    AOCTO-Darkforest_p.udk
    AOCCTF-Ruins_Large_P
    AOCTO-Hillside_P.udk
    AOCCTF-Frigid_p
    AOCTO-Stoneshill_P.udk
    CAPTURE THE FLAG
    AOCTO-Citadel_p
    AOCCTF-Moor_p

    but for some reason I cannot get it to stay this way…

    I run these on my own box a quad/quad 3.06 blade with 192gb ram on a 1000/1000 gb pipe

    I am very new to this and would really appreciate some assistance to what I am doing wrong

  • copy/paste the contents of your file from:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\chivalry_ded_server\UDKGame\Config \PCServer-UDKGame.ini

    I’ll fix you up.

  • My guess would be that you added the maps to the wrong file.

    You want the maps in PCServer-UDKGame
    Not Default-UDKGame (I believe that’s what it’s called)

    Also, can anyone explain to me how the maplist is handled by the game.

    In our UDKGame file we have both an array of maplist and a maplist that point to the same maps in the same order.

    EX.

    Maplist[0] = Somemap1
    Maplist[1] = Somemap2

    Then later

    Maplist = Somemap1
    Maplist = Somemap2
    Maplistindex = 0

    Can someone explain to me how the game is reading these maplists, what is necessary, and what is going on. It seems highly unnecessary.

  • The numbered list is the cycle order playlist, if you have one specified.

    The other maplist are all maps included on the server to be randomly cycled through after the numbered list runs out, if applicable.

  • So, as I suspected, the numbered list does run out instead of reset.

    Is there any way to force a loop of the mapcycle.

    Also, thanks for clarifying that.

  • @Dyson:

    Is there any way to force a loop of the mapcycle.

    Delete any maps unused in your mapcycle from the total list, thus they can’t be called upon to load.

    (Or just put a semi-colon in front of the map names to void the entry)
