Game crashes after splash screen

  • I know this thread is a few months old but I just got the game today and am having the same damn problem.

But I have verified my cache and everything checks out fine. Windows is up to date as is steam. I have installed the DirectX9 drivers and have already on the operating system DX11. I have tried running steam in compatibility mode with no luck either.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit and am getting quite frustrated with this. Have spent a good 6 hours with nothing but a splash screen that never goes away and eventually just says NOT RESPONDING. I then have to restart everything starting over.

Please help. I really want to play this game. It’s the only reason I even got steam in the first place.

  • I split this into a new topic.

Please attach your Launch.log and DxDiag.txt in a reply here.

    Launch.log is found here: Documents\My Games\Chivalry Medieval Warfare\UDKGame\Logs

DxDiag.txt is generated by clicking the Windows Start Menu, typing dxdiag into the search field, selecting dxdiag.exe from the search results, and then clicking the Save All Information button in the dxdiag app.

  • launchlogs are here: There is a maximum of 3 attachments per post so I cant save them and attach them all but here are their names. If you need the actual contents of the files i can make multiple posts.

If you end up helping me fix this idk what I would do. I would be THRILLED. everything I have tried has not worked (although I understand very little about all this and just joined this forum today…)

    Thanks again

    Just the Launch…

You’re running Windows in VM. What is your host operating system? What video card do you have? Is 3D acceleration enabled for the VM?

  • Ok yes I am running in VM host OS is OS X 10.6.8 snow leopard. Yes 3D acceleration is enabled, I tried checking that earlier today as a fix. and as far as the video card goes im not entirely sure but under graphics is says NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.

    Here is the launch:

figured I would quote you so you knew I replied since I didn’t do that in the original reply.

  • Developer

I’d contact your VM’s developers. DirectX emulation/translation isn’t perfect (evidently, since it’s not even able to run the game), and even if it did run the performance would probably be terrible. The 9400M is already borderline, if not below min spec.

People with Mac’s have played successfully with Parallels as their VM of choice, but I don’t know if that video card will work well if at all. :?
