How does Autokill work when time runs out during a duel?

  • If time runs out during a duel, one of the players is automatically killed and the other awarded the round.
Does the system give any particular preference to rank, total dealt/received damage or some other factor as to who is automatically killed or is it random?

The reason I ask is because I’ve had some frustrating duels where a player could consistently manage to run & avoid fighting altogether until the round time finished and I was the player who kept getting autokilled.
Mineshaft and shipyards are probably the worst offenders for this delaying tactic.

Ideally, the player automatically killed should be the player who has traveled the most distance (assuming this is a implementable quantifiable measurement in the game which wouldn’t put a strain on clientside bandwidth for data sent).
