Recommend a Lightweight Torrent Client?
-
Yo guys, for those of you that use Torrent clients, which do you feel is the best?
This is for legal stuff of course. I used to use BitTornado years ago, but it has pretty much stopped working recently and won’t connect to any trackers. Finally said bollocks to it, when it wouldn’t download the (Free) Perspective game.Anyways, I’m after a nice, small, lightweight torrent client. I only use it now and then so I don’t want one with anything flashy. Just litterally to download something in the background now and then (like Perspective) when something prefers to use a torrent link.
I’ve heard a lot of people use utorrent, but I’ve also heard it is quite bloated and apparently also tracks a lot of shite for ad purposes (unsure if just conspiracy there).
Seen some other torrent clients but they all looked pretty complex and for hardcore downloading and management of files and other media. I wouldn’t give a toss about any of that, I just want to click download, let it run in the background, and close it when finished.
Anyone know of a nice, lightweight client for me you could recommend? With no tracking / advert bollocks or bloated crap.

Meaning I don’t need one that’s omfg supar dupar secret encrypted up to the bollocks to fuck the police, hide from the CIA and wall me behind 5 proxies… I just want one that works.
Also like I said, I hardly ever use it really which is why I don’t care for a bloated one. I just recently tried to download that Perspective game through it, (where they RECOMMEND you use the torrent link), and found my old client lacking. Even WoW’s patches used torrent protocols to download patches… (just with their own client). :P

I’m a noob when it comes to torrent thingys, But I use BitLord and never got any problems using it, simple and easy to use, just let it run in the background.

I’ve been using uTorrent, it’s got a lot more bloated than when it first came out sure but it’s still good imo.

I use Vuze, it’s decent.

uTorrent. Its shit, but its what I use.
-
Use an early version of utorrent, works good and doesn’t take alot of room.

What version do you recommend that still works?
Room isn’t a factor, I have a terabyte harddrive, just want something lightweight and fast, click, download, done, sorta thing.
Thanks for the suggestions guys!

anyway I swear Ive seen some one post this before on Mega some time ago…. I can look for it if you still haven’t managed to grab it :)

Alrighty then, what’s the verdict? UTorrent seems to be the most popular.
I’m just wary of the bloatware and tracking rumours I’ve heard in the latest versions that’s all. :/I’m not full on tinfoilhat mode with stuff like that, but I REALLY don’t like programs doing things that isn’t their purpose, spesh if that involves running bloatware and advert based tracking shite behind the scenes on my comp…
Also as with the Perspective game on the first page, another fun clever student project for you: https://www.digipen.edu/?id=1170&proj=23876

Those DigiPen students don’t half make some good games. Really love their projects. Also fuck me at the guy above, really wish I could edit signatures…
