      @bluethumb:

      The first excuse I’ll hear is “oh, it’s just a small indie company.” That just means they have to be even more focused on quality. not less.

      well, if you look at their about page (http://www.tornbanner.com/about/), you can see they don’t seem to be that small anymore

      @Silu:

      I’m glad I reached most of the unlocks back in 2012, when it seemed to work.

      Now all I need is to get my black helmets, which is kinda tricky though. Yesterday I got to rank 39 twice.

      It never worked properly.

      maybe I was too nooby back when to notice, but I recall never having a problem with it before a patch broke it

    • RE: Good way to keep the new players active

      @Bazzyboss:

      Hopefully it will be fixed soon, I tried using a fix from the internet, nothing.
      I’m new to this game, and it makes me rage quit everytave time I have to re unlock one of my weapons. I once had to get 40 kills, and was 6 kills away from the Zwiehander, then it all got reset.
      And all this going on while they are making a DLC? This is not looking for them. And, it’s all happening after the free weekend and 75% weekend deal.
      NOT COOL.

      well, I wouldn’t focus so much on weapon unlocks. I mean its easy for me to say since I was able to unlock them when that used to work, but the base weapons are fine. Greatsword is a lot of fun for vanguards, and the longsword is great for knights, as well as broadsword, et cetera

      …But this bug is known and going to be fixed with the next patch as far as I was told by anonymous cat sources…

      heh, I believe we’ve heard that a few times now. That is, not about the cat sources, that’s news to me

    • RE: ANOTHER 2 GB?

      its even worse when the patch was for DW, lmao

      YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DOWNLOAD THE DW PATCH IF YOU DO NOT OWN IT

      if you have Steam client beta, there is a new feature that allows you to not update a game and just go ahead and play it instead. This works with MW for at least this patch. Problem is that it asks you every time you launch it. Also not sure what’s going to happen when, if they do that is, release a “patch” for MW. Probably you’ll have to download both in sequence, lol

    • RE: So about that 64bit…

      @Arebasu:

      It’s okay, as usual we get the weak ass run around from TB.
      Subject: Why the decision to leave support for 32-bit OS?
      @Andrew:

      This was already answered in this thread, and is also reflected on our minimum spec page.
      viewtopic.php?f=103&t=24299&p=208438#p208438
      http://store.steampowered.com/app/241280/

      On 32-bit Windows, processes have 2 GB of userspace memory address space available, and even less than that has to actually be filled to cause memory allocation failures. The ‘out of virtual memory’ error message is misleading.

      Again, we’re working on memory use reduction, but 32-bit Windows is going to remain unsupported in C:DW. I doubt there are any 32-bit CPUs that meet our minimum specifications (putting aside the 64-bit requirement part of it) anyways. You could be on a 64-bit OS. Ours isn’t the only studio that’s dropping 32-bit support.

      All you did was just repeat what we already know;
      ~ one person say it isn’t dropped but steam and others say it is.
      ~ I don’t think specs are the issue when everyone runs higher requirement games (at max settings) like Rome II, Shogun II, Skyrim, New Vegas, Metro 2033/Last Light and etc

      lmao. I guess this is TB’s way of saying that they don’t officially support 32-bit OS for DW?

      EDIT: I now understand that the launched launches the 32-bit .exe by default? LOL

    • RE: Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior Patch 1 Beta (deprecated)

      am I seeing things, or is there actually a section labeled “optimizations?”

      in all seriousness, and maybe this is too off-topic, but: Will any of these optimizations be transferred over to MW soon? It seems like there’s a few that could be:

      • Reduced memory usage of the client

      • Further netcode and server CPU optimizations

      • Force disable ssao and subsurface scattering (neither is being properly utilized right now, and are just costing GPU performance)

      • misc 64-bit optimizations

    • RE: Why the decision to leave support for 32-bit OS?

      @dudeface:

      Pretty sure the game is a 32-bit executable.

      @Flippy:

      What dudeface said. You just need to go to Steam>SteamApps>common>chivalrymedievalwarfare>CDW>Binaries>Win32>CDW. There you can launch it in 32 bit, however you can’t drag the launcher onto your desktop to use it as a shortcut. It has to be in the Win32 file when you launch it.

      that makes more sense. I guess it was just a mistake on the steam page on Steam :S

    • RE: Hitboxes and Weapons

      correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t all weapons count hits if any part of the weapon intersects a hit box? For example, hilts of swords, poles of polearms, et cetera. Or even better (and same as OP’s example), how there is pull-back damage with stuff like the brandi. My understanding is that its just poor implementation of hit detection

      @dragonmith:

      NS2 might help us here:

      http://unknownworlds.com/ns2/32bit/

      I’m too lazy to have an opinion here however, you chaps sort it out.

      that’s cool, and thank you, but its a bit irrelevant I think. If DW requires 64-bit systems, I’m imagining it simply won’t run on 32-bit systems, or that maybe weird things will happen. I’ve never tried to run a 64-bit program on a 32-bit system, so I guess I can’t really say, though
