    • RE: Torn Banners next game: Battle Royale

      Tornbanner studios next project will be…
      the unemployment office…
      multiple flops and a game that is, for all intensive purposes, dead.
      the majority of the player base has left a long time ago due to the down right hostile attitude given by TBS about this games massive and glaring issues with not only its interface in regards to menu crashes, random game crashes and not to mention the terrible lack of combat mechanics that allow for the most ludicrous and idiotic play styles ever.

      yes i can see it now.
      TBS is proud to present:
      Broke and unemployed

    • RE: REQUESTING IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE FROM DEVS: 10 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS AND THERE ARE NO SANTA HATS!

      santa hats? really?
      that is your concern?
      not the flaws in the game, lack of balance, lack of any semblance of actual combat tactics and extremely flawed combat mechanics to say the least?
      no a useless skin modification is what you are concerned about.

      yeah sure santa hats, lets focus on that instead of all other glaring issues…

      unfortunately you folks are the exact kind of customer TBS focuses on. At the expense of the majority of the now long gone player base.

      yup. no wonder TBS staff will be submitting their resumes to other companies soon…

    • RE: returning to the game to find eveythings $$$$

      YEAH that is the way tornbanner studios went
      they said screw you to the player base (customers) in every aspect of the word. They refused to fix the combat mechanics or lack there of. They refused to continue fixing the massive glitch fest that is chivalry. They refused to even acknowledge that they had any problems with this product at all.

      no instead they went for the model of community makes skins and we sell them for free and easy money.
      Then they decided that since they had one failing product on their hands, why not double down and focus all available resources on another… Mirage the epic flop.
      A game no one wanted, asked for and even tornbanners own beta testers were abandoning in droves hence the early and with no announcement release of their soon to fail POS product.

      this attitude of saying to heck with the player base in regards to chivalry started when DOA came out and was dead on arrival. TBS was expecting everyone to rush right out and buy this pseudo expansion and guess what happened?
      They didnt.
      CMW was extremely glitchy at that time even more than it is now. Random crashes, server list disappearing, no redundancy error checking or server time out protocols etc etc.

      It became very apparent that when DW went belly up, the company head said to heck with all of them. The attitude from this company changed from one of optimistic promises and hopes for the future to one of complete pessimism and even hostility towards their own players. Many future promises and goals were immediately tossed aside and that is when the announcements from this company went from a “hey we are listening and love in input” to a “how dare you critique this game at all and for that we are not fixing anything”.

      Tornbanner Studios is greed incarnate.
      Greed and incompetence is what killed this company.

      which comes straight from the top.

      i am honestly expecting a server mod to come by and remove this even thought what i am saying comes only out of sincere frustration with this game and the developers.
      I loved this game when i first saw it and i knew it had great potential. Unfortunately after seeing the constant inability or unwillingness to fix this games massive and obvious flaws, I became completely disheartened and even cynical about this game and its company.

      If a mod does end up reading this and wants to talk further, I will be checking this site from time to time or you can just email me. This is not an attempt to troll or anything just an honest, no holds bard opinion from someone with over 20 years online gaming experience.

    • RE: Magic? Really? Come on guys..

      yeah mirrage… so far not good…
      Its one thing to go out of ones comfort zone but its entirely different to make yet another product when the problems of old have yet to be resolved. i agree with @FasteddieMc about this product. it feels like Tornbanner Studios have put all there eggs in one basket in the search for profit instead of fixing the original problems of CMW and then moving on. Magic combat is everywhere and there is nothing spectacular about it anymore. This isn’t the late 90’s, magic is in many prodcuts now. Chivalry is a decent game but still needs lots of work…(ROH and other animation breaking moves along with obvious hit/collision model problems being A # 1 on the list)
      On a more personal note i always felt that TBS (tornbanner studios) had the potential to be the next CS (Counter-Strike not CS:GO the crap version of CS) of its time and type but have so far squandered the opportunity. which is very sad considering this game was great shortly after release even with the bad interface and instability problems.

      Fun fact about Mirrage i learned and i have pending questions toward the TB spokes person.
      ROH(revers over head) will still be possible but will do no damage in Mirrage…
      waiting on response about specifics and then i will have more questions based on said response.

      TBS had a great opportunity with this product but from the outside looking in it appears that there pursuit of coin has so far out led the pursuit of a rock solid, decently made product in regards to CMW and possibly Mirrage as well.

      @Reithur
      well that’s cool anyways. much rejoicing to hear that one for mirrage +1 for you guys and sorry about being snarky. I figured it would get a fast if not a somewhat angered response :P
      I do hope someday after Mirrage is out and if it goes better than chivalry you could all at least take some time to tweak chivalry and take what you just described from Mirrage and apply it, but i understand that getting the new product out there is #1 Priority.
      I am just a bit curious on what the staff there at Tornbanner Studios thought when they first saw the ROH though. Were they kind of like “oh crap wth is that!!!” or was it more subdued and i am also curios what the staff at tornbanner thinks of the busted maneuver. I know the standard answer is “its part of the game” but are there some in the ranks who at least think its…we’ll say not good anyways.
      Thanks for the response and again sorry for the attitude earlier

      Just a quick edit: so you said the actions will be possible but do no damage so does that mean the movement schemes and such will be like in chivalry? Character models can still do a 360 overhead and do crazy spinning and jerking? Please say it ain’t so because if it is then I would say go back to the drawing board on that one. Chivalry is in its death throws now from these problems and exploits and to make another game with all the same potential for exploit doesn’t make much sense, from a business or gaming aspect. I mean Tornbanner is no spring chicken now and people will be more hesitant to purchase any other product made by this company. If they all see that its the same headaches and problems then the probability of them purchasing it will drop radically.

      @Skindiacus
      Yeah i’l admit that one was over the top but hey sometimes you got to be a pain in the butt to get someones attention and what better way to do that than a swift boot to the backside. Metaphorically speaking :P

      @Reithur
      ok and I hate to be a pain in the arse. Not really, but you said you can’t do ROH in mirrage and I’m still waiting for a response on the why not and what makes it impossible to do so is all.
      I see that you are the QA and CM of TB and am still waiting patiently for a response on this question.

      I saw you and several other TB devs on an official server the other night and find it funny you all left very quickly. Its almost like you all didn’t enjoy your gaming experience. just wondering what you all think of the product you have made so far and how it has worked out. I know its a more personal question but i am curios. I did ask if TB would think of shrinking the collision models a little and you said no then left…
      Not exactly a good response but i understand you were all there to experience the game not to answer questions and i apologize for that.
      Now in this place:
      Is TB going to actually fix this game or is the answer: everything is intended as is and we see nothing wrong. If that is how you all feel then can i at least get my 12 bucks and change back because this is not what i bought years ago.
      If I saw one reverse overhead i would have never purchased this product :(
      i am very sad that TB has changed sooo much as to make this product unrecognizable from its original release :(

    • RE: Reverse over heads?

      @Vizzle

      Realistically speaking attempting to do an ROH would cause serious injury to the fool who would attempt it. IDK your background or if you have any experience in using large heavy tools but I do (ax to cut wood and sledge hammer for various tasks). Grab a sledge hammer and try to spin while doing a reverse over head with it as shown in game.
      (I don’t recommend it) but once your out of the hospital tell me how it worked out for ya lol. as for being realistic i would then argue it has the title “medieval warfare” in it so i expect some level of realism with its combat performance and mechanics.

      The maximum swing arch i described would not break the swing acceleration/deceleration as it would not effect the speed or manipulation of swing-in-motion. It would effect how far /long the swing could be active but only so much as to stop the extreme abuse of the poorly done animations.

      In regard to swing acceleration and deceleration that too needs some work and refinement. Take a sledge hammer or a wood cutting ax and swing it from right to left as hard as you can. You will notice that attempting to manipulate the speed of the swing like in chivalry will only result in potential injury while simultaneously greatly reducing the effectiveness of weapon/tool.

      If the ROH would still be possible with what I described then they need to set it so when a wind up is occurring, if something or someone is in the wind up animation model it will then be stopped like being hit during wind up and cause no damage to the player it collided with. This will then not allow the ROH and would greatly reduce the possibility for team damage especially when a teammate is right on someones back. Just another thought and again appreciate the feed back and discussions and love that you knew it was Newtons Law :)
