Massive, massive Chivalry fan here with 303 hours of gameplay at level 43.
Personally, I think it looks rushed, and it raises a few questions about integrity when an indie game with so much potential (lore etc), grassroots support teams up with some American company that only cares about money and explosions. A lot of people are rightfully concerned about the direction the game is going in.
At the end of the day though, small studios need money, and money comes from people buying a product they want to play and I can almost guarantee that whilst the ‘core’ Chivalry players may not be impressed, a whole boatload of new players will DEFINITELY buy this expansion. Everyone loves samurais and Spartans!
Also, the game has a few bugs, but these do not in ANY WAY affect my gameplay. I love this game so much, and the bugs do not bother me in the slightest. By creating this expansion, it paves the way for future updates and bugfixes that will greatly improve the game. TB needs to expand it’s territory to gather more players, because spending all your time on money on bugfixing will please the core players, but it won’t bring many new players to the table.
To conclude, I’m really really really really really really really excited about the new maps, weapons, classes, gameplay, EVERYTHING. It’s going to be brilliant.
To those moaning about bugs - get a life, seriously. Think about how cheap the game was, how awesome the first content update was and how much fun you get from this game. Don’t be so bloody ungrateful
