      @loin:

      well I could fire up the workstation dual 3.46 quad core with its 32gb of ram, with 240 ssd for a server then.
      Until I get organised to simply rent a server from simrai, its more preferable to pay 6 months in advance.
      I thought the servers were not seen on steam a few years go with a home setup?

      I’m not sure but as long as you do the steam chivalry server setup instead of using the commandline to make a server from your existing chivalry download I know it’ll show up.

      I’ve never been a fan of renting virtual server space; I pay $70 a month for that CPU, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD storage in RAID1, and unmetered bandwidth in Chicago.

      I ran multiple chivalry servers on a Xeon E3 1230v3 (even with one server hitting 64 men) without any hiccups. Important thing is strong single core performance and that definitely seems to be no problem for you. I also recommend for the chivalry servers changing the tick rate to 120 because it does make a noticeable improvement with little load increase.

      @Lemon:

      Easy to destroy data is another way of saying non recoverable data. When SSDs go wrong you can’t get anything back from it. Needing an HDD to back up things too anyway.

      Huh? SSDs tend to be more reliable due to non moving parts. Over years generally the way the SSD will fail is due to not being able to write anymore but that data is still recoverable. In due time when SSD prices drop enough and you see larger storage sizes you will see SSDs replacing HDDs in data backup.

      Yeah I get that, and HDD wise I think you’re right. What I’ve learn about SSD’s is that performance from RAID 0 on a SSD is very minimal due how SSD’s aren’t mechanical. I think the best options with SSD’s are instead of buying those 2 extra SSD’s just get ones with better Read/Write speeds and RAID 1 it.

      Though personally I don’t have my gaming SSD’s in raid. They only hold my downloaded games and aren’t a big loss if I lose them.

    • RE: Windows 10

      @Tyoson:

      Is there any benefit in upgrading windows from Windows 7?

      For chivalry or any reason?

      Windows 10 (AKA Windows 8 2.0 but labeled differently so people aren’t turned off by the poor release) OS is better all around. You’ll get performance increases as well as the ability to run DX12 for future games.

      With that said though I’ll reluctantly upgrade. I dislike the idea of being forced into menus designed for people without glasses on (does anyone else prefer small icons with high resolutions?) but in order to stay up to date with security and software it’s a must. At least the start menu will somewhat be back.

      @Coaster_Man:

      Will Chivalry: Medieval Warfare be compatible with Windows 10? Just today I noticed an icon on my taskbar (Win7) which linked me to some info on Win10. I tried searching on the steam forums and here but didn’t get a lot of success. Google did result in 1 reddit post saying a user had not too many issues with the tech preview.

      Well, at least Windows will always have that legacy support with the “Launch with –- OS” setting as a B option.

    • RE: How do I get the Muffin Hat?

      @Gaymer:

      Go to Chiv’s store page and start following them. Note that currently the muffin hat is only in the beta version of the game

      It just got released to live.

      @Retsnom:

      Steam fart?

      Exactly. I noticed the same issue with some other games discussion threads as well.

    • RE: Dedicated server download and configuration guide

      Okay so you’re saying you can connect via internal IP but not your external IP?
      Wrap [Code*] [/Code*] around your text there and please also post your Engine.ini file aswell.
