RE: Theater mode
lol pretty sure I made a post like this earlier, too.
I keep watching the trailers for this game, and they look amaazing. I bet almost every battle looks that good, it’s just you don’t get to see it because you’re only one person at one time. Can these guys just get bought up by Valve or Epic and have them pour a ton of money/expertise into them? This is one of those good things that should be in the game, but is technically really hard to do.

RE: Class customization suggestion and new ways of…
I posted something like this earlier. I like the idea of customization a lot. Balancing speed, power, and defense is super important to a game like this. It also lets you have a sense of ownership of your build because you tailor it specifically to meet your needs.
How would you balance having a super heavy maul and light armor? I think giving every piece of armor and equipment a weight and then adjusting speed according to weight class would probably be the best way of doing it. As far as the game is concerned, you are only given three areas of being hit (head, body, legs), so maybe it would be best to simplify armor categories that way? Or maybe even just helmet/body? I think the helmet/body customization would be best for visualizing your enemy and planning your attack as well. Seeing a heavy armored enemy without a helmet would be very tempting to head_slice_ :)
I also went a little further and explained how you would customize your character. At the start of each match you only have a certain amount of money to buy gear. Weak Daggers/Clubs and Light armor would be the cheapest. As you advance you purchase things like Light Leather armor, Ringmail, or big Greatswords.
Obviously things would have to change their balance a lot!

RE: Dodge and ducking for other classes
I can’t imagine vanguard making a maa dodge, at most it would be like 1 step to the side. Still it couldn’t be as fast as maa, it would make no sense. So basicly it is down to just side strafing which you can do with what you got now in the game.
I agree with a lot that’s being said in this thread. Having all the classes be able to use some mobility to dodge arrows is much preferred to the weird movement patterns we’re getting. IRL people would be turning their bodies for a split second, but in this game your head/eyes seem to be locked to your torso.
I support something like a “dodge” for every class. Maybe make the Vanguard/Knight move less for their dodge? Make it cost a lot more stamina? Or when they dodge sideways make them turn their bodies perpendicular to their sight? I don’t know if I support the rolling though : :?

RE: Kinetic Force vs Weapon mass
Isn’t it possible to make the parry window smaller when the difference between the player’s weapon and the enemy’s weapon is larger? It makes sense that a longer sword would parry things earlier whereas something that is really light could only parry things at a very precise moment.

RE: Chivalry MW Gameworld
I totally want more lore in this game.

RE: Armory Mode
Isn’t mount & blade supposed to be good? I played the first one, but it looked like rubbish and the third person view made it even worse.

RE: Left Handed
You think everyone in Medieval Warfare is classically trained?

RE: Armory Mode
I don’t really know how I’d even begin to start doing a mod…

RE: Left Handed
Lore aside, I don’t know how this would be implemented. Just mirroring animations would be confusing. Would having a left hand alter gameplay in any way?
First of all it, changes the blocking. Right now you’re only looking to the left, top, or middle of a player. After this change you’d first be looking for their weapon side and then either top or middle.
Second of all, putting players’ right sides against a wall is always advantageous because it removes their M1 horizontal swing. If this were implemented you’d have to look for their weapon side before you can put them into a disadvantageous situation.
So, yeah, it’d be confusing, but learning to understand that and working through it would add more depth. Not that this is necessary, but that’s what would happen.
