    • Game breaking bug for Vikings - How is this not fixed yet?

      I made multiple bug reports for this during both beta and after initial release, but i can see it is still prevalent in the game so i’ll make a topic here about it in the hopes it gets fixed faster….

      When a large fast combo is built up or even a few swings with a viking, and the combo is interrupted either by a block or damage during the windup, when you’ve stopped being dazed the viking will attempt to swing, WITHOUT command. This happens almost every time without fail when a combo is built up and results in many deaths due to the bug, leaving you wide open on an attack you didn’t want to make. This bug is exclusive to vikings as far as i can tell.

      Thrusting does more damage, other than that swings and overhead do less damage when dual wielding, and the hit tracers being further out to the sides. Not worth it when using an axe.

      Except when you’re kicked and almost instantly pierced by a thrown spear. And the blunderbuss is not a 1 shot weapon unless its point blank to the head, nor are pirates a melee dominant class.

      What you did was compare the blunderbuss to the spear. Which is ridiculous because it is much easier to hit a target with the spread of the shotgun rather than the spear.

      As for kicking the opponent, The stun period from the kick is not long enough to hit some one with a spear throw without them reacting. Either you have very slow reaction time from getting kicked, or you are getting major lag because you have plenty of time to dodge a spear after a kick from a spartan.

      We will see if in the future this may create problems, but as it currently stands, the dory is fine.

      What i did was compared two ranged weapons. One that is easy to hit with but low damage unless they don’t have a shield or you’re point blank and get a centre mass shot, in which as a centre mass hit with the Dory will kill outright anyway. If an opponent such as a knight or viking has his shield up and is kicked you have more than enough time to throw the Dory into him, and barely enough if he doesn’t have a shield. I’m running into players who have mastered it, you can begin the throw as your leg is extended straight out in the kick. Others will just wait for your dodge attempt then compensate. There really isn’t much a pirate can do versus a Spartan in melee with the thrown Dory being such an easy victory.

      Do you ever say anything positive? Obviously this would be a server setting, not a forced ping limit on every single server. People who want a ping limit on their servers should be able to enforce one. And i have never been in a DW server yet where everyone’s ping spiked.

      There is no option for a ping kick. And yes the servers do spike. I don’t know how nad the mulitplay ones are but every servers I’ve been on has spiked to some degree and everyone has spiked. Though the spiking isn’t related to high pingers it will still spike even though I’ve kicked all of them.

      But high pingers put everyone’s ping over 100. Our 64 slot servers runs fine when you have got rid of every last one of them and you only a get slighty higher ping than a 32 MW server most people are under 100.

      But we need the option of a ping kick so we can else inset lag as much as possible and make it so you don’t run into anyone with 400 ping.

      Don’t start blaming Clayton about being negative. Only I’m supposed to do that anyway. But do you see anything positive about this at all???

      Why are you arguing, aren’t you in favour of an automatic ping kick? I know i am as i stated in my previous post. And I see the positive aspects of your post yes, which is why i agreed. And i have never experienced a ping spike in a server in my 53 hours of beta gameplay and 25 hours of release gameplay, albeit i only play in 20 slot servers since any more and it turns into a spam-fest.

      Bumping. The shank is terribly hard to get a hit with the DW movement, having this animation and the associated tracers would give it slightly longer range.

      erh… wtf. “Has become” ? It never changed to begin with it…

      It’s the current cheap 1 hit kill weapon that lets you avoid most melee situations where actual skill is required, like the blunderbuss was in beta.

      This REALLY needs to happen, especially with the way the netcoding works in this game, and the desync between getting hit and attack animations.
