RE: Leave the Low Rank server's alone
When I tried setting up a new account I was rank 1 but all my weapons were open
Yeah, this is what I got. Rank 1, but with all my unlocks and even the same customization.
RE: Leave the Low Rank server's alone
And half a year ago we established you needed a whole new windows account for it to be able to work as it uses the same stats in my documents. They have all the same unlocks and rank as the original steam account. And customisation for that matter.
3000 hours lol. Took you 8 months to realise there’s bots on coldfront. Pub TO apparently what you do all day.
Wait, what? You can definitely get onto low rank servers with just a family sharing account. It’s pretty boring and pointless, since they really are full of players who are new and know nothing about the game, so playing against them is super boring (unless you really get off on beating people who have no chance of ever winning). Or is that not what you meant?
RE: You guys watching this real life tourney?
Russia tis mighty as fuck. America got beat by Poland and England in the IMCF (other international league) but yeah, Americans are getting good. Russia, Ukraine and Poland still the top though. Makes sense, been doing it the longest. Russia’s dudes I think are actually paid to do this (don’t quote me on that though).
RE: Archer Cancer is a real thing! Stay on topic this time…
England was the only nation to keep a pool of trained and experianced archers.
They were the only forward thinking nation at the time. On the mainland the chivalric code was law. In England it was more seen as general guidelines rather than than rules. Mainland nations such as the french threw practicality out the window in favour of Knights with sword and lance. The sword becoming rather outdated itself. Led france into a civil war the Burgundians liked the English way of doing things while the ruling Armagnacs stuck to this outdated code of honour. At the battle of Crécy the french killed their own crossbowmen as they strategically retreated when they came under fire from the long range english archers. The French had pushed them to the front without their pavise shields. So they got shot to bits. Then cut to pieces by their own side. That’s how screwed up many were back then.
The French knight almost always had a lance and a sword he could use one handed and two handed when on foot. The english knight had a lance and mace or axe over a sword usually. And when they fought on foot they favoured weapons such as the poleaxe or billhook. Practical weapons. The French used symbolic weapons. English infantry inflicted massive amounts of casulties on french forces. The battle of Verneuil English infantry including light infanty inflicted almost 8000 casulties on french and scottish Dismouted knights while only suffering 1600 casulties. The archers fought in melee that battle. Didn’t fire a shot at the infantry.
By the time chivalry died guns had come along. But I can assure you archers wouod of played a much larger rule if the chivalric code was abolished much earlier. On the mainland at the time everyone was sticking to old ways. No one was forward thinking at all. So when a bunch of outdated people fight another bunch of outdated people it just looks normal. England is the only nation to have documented and kept records on absolutely everything. The only nation to even write down the names of the peasants fighting with them. Ok the roll, on the payslip and even recorded in journals. The French only had noblemen fighting.
Archers weren’t relevant one mainland as they were against the values of the chivalric code and took too much tike to train.
Pretty much all of this is wrong. England wasn’t more “forward thinking” than France, and chivalry wasn’t a law in either country. Both sides’ men-at-arms (most professional soldiers, cavalry or otherwise, were not nobles at this point, due to there not being enough nobles to field armies this large) wielded a variety of weapons, with axes, maces and such being particularly common as armor improved. Swords were wielded by everyone, however. There was no divide between the French using “symbolic” weapons and the English being practical, completely spurious idea really. France was one of the military powerhouses of the Continent, they didn’t get that way by being sentimental about their weapons. Both sides had plenty of “peasants” (usually more equivalent to our middle-class, actually) fighting for them, and they recorded the pay for both, I assure you. France had a larger amount of noblemen to draw from compared to England, probably due to the fact that France isn’t one half of an island. All nations kept plenty of records, not just England.
The English were plenty enarmored with the rule of chivalry, by the way. They were just as likely to ransom captive nobles as anyone else, and they expressed disgust when they fought people, like the Irish, who preferred to decapitate all their prisoners rather than ransom them. Indeed, the English had a rather shite record of fighting against anyone who didn’t march up in a straight line and fight them face to face.
RE: Chivalry is racist
The Vanguard, with the chainmail and limited plated limb defenses, and the great helm, is pretty typical for mid-thirteenth century Western Europe. The Agatha Knight is what Peter said, mid-to-late fourteenth century (always thought he wore a surcoat over a cuirass personally, not a coat of plate, which is more similar to what the Mason knight wears I think). The Dreadnought skin is a fantasy mish-mash of fifteenth century plate harness with fourteenth-century Teutonic-inspired great helm (the wings and such give it away), with an addition of spikes because Evil is Spiky. The Inquisitor skin is solid fifteenth century full plate harness, probably more Germanic than Milanese.
But yeah, fantasy game. If you don’t take your helm off, you could just imagine yourself as not-white. Hell, could imagine yourself as a woman if you don’t use voice commands, since women in armor are pretty identical to men in armor due to all the padding and bulk of the armor itself erasing any hint of typical feminine features.
RE: Chivalry is racist
Well, the Mason knight looks kind of Eastern European, and they were like medieval Europe’s version of black people for most of the period. Well, them and the Irish. And the Barbarian skins…well, they’re half naked, and the archers sometimes chuck spears. Clearly Irish, or black, or Spanish, or something.
Privilege, thou hast been checkedeth.
RE: Where Will It End?
Well Christians a long time ago just made exceptions to the rules all the time lol. You won’t get murdered by them. You would get put on trial then Executed. Had to be done by the book. And it was really Roman Catholics to be exact. Went against anyone else who wasn’t Roman Catholic. They even had a crusade against the Byzantines. Orthodox Christians and the last of the Romans. Wasn’t really till Protestantism came about where things got quiet again.
I’m an atheist, and I’m pretty sure religion is a cancer on the collective asshole of humanity, but you’re wrong here m8. Christians, Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, and otherwise (including early denominations now called heresies, such as Arianism) slaughtered thousands, if not millions, of people in the name of religion. They would certainly put people on trial, but they would also just murder people, burn villages/cities, enslave others, etc. Orthodox Christians in the East did this as well, as did Catholic Christians, as did Protestants. Oftentimes, such violence was aimed at “infidels” such as Muslims and pagans, but it was often aimed at other Christians as well, often by painting them as “lesser” than other Christians: ex. the English justifying their colonization of Ireland, and the accompanying genocidal tendencies toward native Irish (who were all Christians, and had been for longer than the English. Ironically, much of England had been evangelized by the Irish.)
As for all the other stuff: Retsnom clearly suffers from “I’m a scared old man” syndrome, and so perceives the Muslims as some giant threat. To which I say: nut up, old man. The Muslims aren’t soft invading anything other than your nightmares, you cooky bastard.
