Patchnotes read quite reassuring. Looks the Gods (devs) haven’t abandoned us all, after all.
Good job.

Guy jumped at my head, then this bug occured and I couldn’t do anything. I was playing in first person mode, then I got kicked into 3rd person view and floated.
The cause must have been a mix of jumping at my head and the uneven ground on that map. Map is buggy as hell, anyway.
I have the feeling it’s server-related.
That bug only occured on the same server, and quite frequently.
Video is blocked by youtube due to copyright claims of the music.
As someone who does it because I feel I have to against others that do the same to me, I still agree with you it needs to go. In fact, pretty much my entire clan agrees that these zero release overheads are nothing but cheap tactics and we are one of most competitive clans in the EU, probably in the entire game, as we’ve done over 50 clan matches since release. We are called out for doing it in clan wars, but the real truth is, we would all rather it be gone entirely. You’re right though, because it’s there, we use it; it’d be silly not to when you want an edge over your opponent and ultimately, as you say, that’s why people do it. One of the things we keep going on about, is when two RK Knights duel, and all you see is two people staring at nothing but the floor when attacking each other, it just makes you think, is this really how combat should be? We need something to discourage or even eliminate it, and right now, the only thing I can personally put on the table is massively reduced damage in the first 20% or so of the release, but even this isn’t a perfect solution, it’s nowhere near. Complaining is easy (and of course valid with good reason behind it), but coming up with solutions is not.
Very good post.
The problem (blocking from wrong angles/Behind) shown in abovesvideo seems to occur more often in big teamgames, compared to small.
Although I’m aware that with more people there are simply more situations where you can attack people from behind, but I have the “feeling” it could be related to frame problems on the blockers side.
Most people seem not to care (or know of) their frames per second and if you have some one with low frames, the game tends to make really weird stuff. Game’s most likely not really playable by the low fps guy, so it hardly gets abused.
The problem is not so much that they attack fast, but that the animation is just creeping the shit out of me.
Looks like you’re in the bloody Exorcist. You can’t bend over at this angle, run around and swing gigantic weapons w/o injuring yourself. The animations are so mind-bogglingly weird, it gets me every time.
Op has a point. Most people are really not very smart, do zero research.
I got kicked from too many servers because of the faster counter-stab of Sword of War. They claimed it was impossible to attack so faster after blocking.
In over 250 hours I have only encountered two obvious hackers and that was last year. Since then I’ve only seen stuff that can easily have been just bugexploiting, a bad connection, low frames per second etc.
And yes, some people don’t even make up lies to kick you, they just say “you’re too good for me, now get kicked”. Though it’s a nice boost of the ego. Thanks for that. If you don’t get kicked regularily, you’re simply not good enough.
I always suspected that bug to be triggered on purpose. Way too many people did it too constantly.
Let’s hope it’s fixed soon. Too much invisible or “ghost swing” attacks for my taste.
Btw. I’m glad SlyGoat censored it, we don’t want every one to use it, it’s already annoying enough. And no, making the game unplayable doesn’t help anyone.
