I actually LOVE fighting against people that have their fov above 110, because they have no depth perception. You can really easily stay out of their range, or parry their attacks from head-on. They do mow down noobs though… so if you’re on a nooby team you’re kinda boned.

Maybe instead of this getting nerfed again, the knight can get a ‘Tap forward’ kind of short version of the vanguards charge, that costs (a lot of) stamina. In my opinion, the knights need a buff (they’re the weakest class… tanky, sure, but too slow mobility-wise for any use against the other classes).
RE: Projectile anomalies
As far as the lag hits go, I have seen this before… once with a war bow but it was patches ago and I’m pretty sure it was caused by lag on my side or the shooters side (I remember one of us had 200+ ping when I checked the scoreboard, I forget which though). An arrow passed through me and landed beside me, and then took the damage moments later. Who knows what causes it.
I’ve had this other scenario a couple times where an enemies arrow passes right through my view cam… and you’d think that would be my head, but instead NOTHING happens. This has happened to me about 5~10 times. I wish I could see from third person (or like a free-cam) what actually happened in these cases.
Also to people who think that a lot of their arrows ‘should have’ been hits, I’ve actually screen recorded some games in very low-ping servers and a lot of the shots I thought were hits actually DID miss by about 1~3 inches on closer review of the footage (I leaded the shots TOO much, arrows passed right in front of some people so in the game in real time you see the trail disappear and it looks like you hit them but on the footage there’s a frame where the dirt gets kicked up and then their player model kind of hides it).

Quake - Rocket Arena would never have existed.
Tower defense games would never have existed.
DOTA would never have existed.
DayZ would never have existed.
The list can go on for quite some time.
The difference is that those mods almost completely differ from the one that they were modded from…

CFtP could use a queue for the parry… Current release you kind of have to mash parry if you’re using a slow weapon.

I wasn’t saying that I refuse to change my strat, and also I wasn’t saying that I lose. I’m saying that we should not support the game pushing towards particular loadouts. If there’s a weapon I know is overpowered, for example, I try not to use it.
There is nothing overpowered though… if you know how to play you will adapt your loadout to counter what the other people bring… Sure some weapons are going to be regarded as more efficient, but that’s bound to happen… Take the maul for instance, some people are saying yeah it’s powerful… it’s also slow as hell and I think if you can’t parry it you have issues…
So, if we’re talking about a problem with Vanguards, and you suggest “just use x weapon dumbass,” YOU in fact are the moron. We’re shooting for balance here.
What’s wrong with changing your loadout to counter some other person? Each class has unique abilities that can be used to exploit your enemy’s class, not the game.
Remember, we’re trying to make everything viable. If you’re saying “durr use claymore, durr use crossbow, durr use broadsword, durr use maul,” you are part of the problem.
I don’t think I ever say things like that…… ever. By all means quote any of my posts where I tell people to use 1 specific weapon. To me, there is no specific weapons that are too powerful, they each have their niche… Some people are just too lazy/stupid to realize that their strategy is completely flawed.

I’ve been using MSI Afterburner. Fraps works better for other things though so I keep it around.
85~100% (100% seems to get more blacks on final compress… definitely an option if you’re going to play a darker map and have the drive space)
framerate limiter disabled
8 threads (i7)
crop video dimensions checked (just because of editing program I use)
Also, I have it not downmixing the multichannel audio… I found that chiv’s music stopped if I tried downmixing, this could just be my machine though.

The flinch is not the main issue… Vanguard and knight can actually recover from flinch… while m@a and archer arent supposed to get hit in the first place. So… what’s not balanced again? But oh you think prepatch was balanced? You know that patch where m@a reigned supreme because of and only because of dodge-attacking?
What if they actually implemented all the classes to be able to use dodge mechanics? Why should m@a be the only one that can use it?
Anyways you’re focusing too much on why it was removed instead of figuring out ways to buff the other classes to deal with it… Like you say yeah when people cry ‘OP’ you don’t need to nerf it… so go ahead, what are your suggestions to balance the game to keep this mechanic in?
