i think the problem lies with us , for a test i switched the connection to a usb stick with internet connection provided by a phone company and the game runs fine- i had 90-100 ping but no issues, while my fiber connection had ping 50 and it caused the problem described, it is something that has to do with my rooter i guess or the internet provider because i get disconnected from other game i play online . i check my connection and it looks ok but it seems that it’s not, it’s like a spike not shown on a internet speed-test . This week it worked more or less fine, only two times it happened , i had to quit the game and find some other thing to do .

me too, i play this game for years and never run into this , this week it has become almost unplayable, especially yesterday .
My connection is fine but after a few seconds player models stuck in a running animation ; i hear the voice commands they perform and the kills are displayed in top right corner . After some 20 seconds or so i get timed out or is back to normal only to experience the same thing again after a minute or so . If someone kills me i die two times, one time by him and the second death is displayed as a team kill by me …all kind of weird shit . I experienced this all week but at some point somehow it was over and i could play but in the last two days it has become simply unplayable .

FiR is a feature that is confusing new players who do not understand why they get their attacks interrupted so often , they need to feel some satisfaction while spamming LMB and land a hit from time-to-time . While i hate the fact that it was removed (not only i get some silly trades with noobs sometimes ,but smart players can now force all kind of trades with messers or mauls ), i have to agree with TB’s decision , when you score big with your first release , you have to try to make as much money as possible for as long as possible , the game has to be accessible to everyone who wants to try it . Being pretentious is not something you can afford as a small emerging company, money dictates your future direction .
A sad thing is that this is the modern tendency in gaming , even companies that earned A LOT from a franchise, they release sequels that require as few brains as possible in order to play . For example : The Elder Scrolls series, from a Morrowind where you needed to think a lot , you continue with Oblivion ( a so-so but still pretty solid ) and you end up with Skyrim ( while being very beautiful you need zero brains in order to finish it , the main story is spoon-fed to you and you can become a god by using crafting skills ) and Elder Scrolls On-line ( a colorless mediocre game that brings almost nothing new to MMO’s out there) .
The discussion between how much a gaming company ( this also applies to other forms of entertainment ) should try to “educate” its customers or how much should allow itself to be “educated” by the general profile of the majority of its customers is a long and complicated one and this is not the place to discuss it so…just enjoy the Carnival of Hit-Trades, a marvelous feature of this game .
RE: IDEA FOR REVERSE OVERHEAD ATTACKS
This is too complicated, in my view, if you want to fix this ,a simple solution will be : imagine a vertical axis from your guy’s head , whatever damage is being dealt “behind” this line it should do only something like 20% of the actual damage of the weapon . This is very realistic, you can’t possibly kill someone behind you with your sword while preparing to land a hit with full force in front of you ; also i think it’s very confusing for new players and detrimental to the game to see this weird hits going on . It is fun , nevertheless :)
Unfortunately, even if they wanted to , my opinion is that TB does not have the technical ability to fix such matters because they lack the necessary skills as this is quite a complex matter to “fix” - so they will just leave it like this .
You know, we discovered accelerated overheads only after a couple of months of playing since release and many cried that it breaks the game , no realism and so on . TB analyzed the issue and i think they wanted to “fix” it but they realized that it’s either too complicated or they don’t know how and they risk breaking the game even more. So, they called it a feature :) , now it’s even present in the load-screen messages .
RE: Remove charge!
This is by far the most retarded mechanic of the game and is due to the fact that it lacks consistency . Example of a consistent charge attack : charging with spears/polearms , it works flawless , it’s a 2-3 meters jump ,if i am at the receiving end i know what to expect and when to parry , i can evaluate if the attack will reach me or it was done too soon , and so on .
And then…we got the charge attacks with swords, the mother of all stupidity in this game . I don’t know what it will be :
-a normal charge ( jumping a couple of meters and i can react ) ,
-an instant charge ( jumping from 2-3 times that distance because of some small elevation in the ground and hitting instantly , if i don’t insta-parry as soon as i hear the sound, i’m dead ) ,
-a delayed charge ( you gotta love these ones , the vang howls , jumps at you, you parry and the attack arrives two seconds later in your feet , i lay dead and the vang moves forward spamming laughter ) ,
-a collateral charge-attack ( you are not even the target of the charge but the vang will turn and wipe everything ) .
And, above all that , this is the most hated mechanic in the game because of all the friendly damage done ,especially by new players - at every Steam sale like this one, the chat is full of messages like : "stop charging into teammates like an animal you F$#%ing Moron !!! ") .
I know this are just wasted pixels , i lost all hope in the devs ability to fix "complex matters " like this one . I remember a patch at some point, for a month or so we had vangs charging 20-30 meters like they were missiles and it took them two more patches to “fix” that, if what we have today can be considered “fixed” .
I think all we want is consistency , is that hard make charge attack with swords perform in a consistent and predictable manner,like the polearm/spear charge ? Do you really need super-brains to make that possible, Torn Banner ? Do you ???

Yeah, last week about 30% of the time it crashed, it has nothing to do with any computer, something in the second obj triggers the crash . Ofc, the devs never had any idea what is it or how to fix it , just like with the ballistas . To quote the way a noob player referred to the ballista bug two weeks ago in a pub : "wtf, this turret thingy is not working ! "
