Too much for me to make a huge post on…I am too tired for that ^^. But I will comment on a few things that are on the top of my head.
1. Definitely agree that the scene needs to grow more.
2. The issue with big clans is not black and white imo. some players want to focus on scrims and the comp scene, like Ky I believe, correct me if I am wrong, whereas others prefer to have a more casual take and play for fun, like myself. The comp. scene is a bonus for myself, and maybe others. Following on, the reason I join clans is because of the people! Eg. every player in IO is my friend and I will play god knows how many different games in a week, cause I love playing different games with friends. It is why I game =] Big clans can have negative impacts on specific games, I agree, but I think, atm, Chivalry itself is preventing the scene from growing because of the bugs and lack of supp. from TB and whatever other reasons you want to voice moreso than larger clans. BUT, time will tell I guess!
3. Availability of clans is frustrating, I understand it both on the receiving and giving end of it. I would, however, counter that with the argument that some people may not want to scrim every day. People (unfortunately x) ) have lives outside of gaming and just want to come on and chill for a night. Ye ok, scrims can be casual too, but there is always a different feel to pubbing/playing a diff. game than a scrim. At least for me =]
I don’t understand at all why clans are so freaking isolated from each other in this game.
Couldn’t agree more. The amount of stupid incidents and annoying situations to deal with in this game, for me, have been way too many. Granted they are a lot less now. But at the end of the day we are playing a game for fun, at the moment I would say clans need to be a bit more chilled in an overall sense. Tisn’t like we are competing for thousands in cash prizes.
I love this game I really do, but to me personally there is no point in anything but playing competitive.
And I think that is the main difference between us two. The comp. scene, though fun and exhilarating, is by no means a priority for me when I play a game. It’s literally for the people I meet. I would be bored as hell if I didn’t have a few people to play a game with, and for me its about making friends online. Everything else that comes afterwards, sure I will participate, but because I have a group of awesome friends who want to as well.
