Can you just immediately update the official servers so anyone who starts the game after the update can actually play?
Sometimes there’s a long pause after the update is pushed out until you can join Official servers…

Why do Bearded Axe and Messer slashes oneshot archers to the torso? Isn’t that a bit too much?
Maybe just a bit less than 100 so you have to kick them and landing one slash isn’t enough. Also Zwei doesn’t oneshot archers to the torso, but an overhead to the legs will? I think that’s a bit inconsistent and weird.
…
also can anyone eloborate on the new animation lod option in graphics menu? is it bound to distance only?
Yeah I thought it would be smoother at 120hz but I guess that frametimes aren’t consistent enough. 144hz helps with tearing too I think, although you can’t really see the tearing anyway at 120hz.
I tested a few options and only difference I found was that animations look really choppy from far away if you lower the LOD bias setting. I have set it to high because I can still get 120fps and I don’t really like those low FPS animations.
It shouldn’t affect anyone who’s close enough to fight you - probably just makes the game less tasking if your PC is not too fast.
I can just barely notice a difference between 120hz and 144hz. I also tried running the game at 120hz but it actually felt choppy while 120fps @ 144hz doesn’t. I guess without V-sync “max fps” always feels a bit choppy even with minimal frametime variance.
Well the game can still be “saved”. They just have to find a way to include the most important changes like FHF and some windup increases into the main game. If they are lazy just make Mercs balance changes part of it and let the community soak it in.
Raging at the forums really does nothing, but looks like TBS isn’t gonna listen anyway. If you think raging can get their attention then why not.
The thing is that if one player can fix almost everything wrong with the game, how can it be so hard for the actual developers not to always mess up everything while trying to fix bugs/imbalance.
They just left Chiv with its thousands of players in a completely f*ckd up state with broken Archer vs. Archer and caveman meta. It’s true that the community had something to do with caveman meta becoming so strong, but it was because the removal of FiR wasn’t tested enough. So now we have hit trading as the #1 tactic of low level players and anyone learning the game, and TBS seems to refuse to bring FiR back even when it could breathe some life into the current braindead meta.
Other changes
- don’t do blood masks at all in Low detail, or beyond high detail distance - 1 step
- don’t do blood splatter effect unless on High or within high detail distance + 1 step
What does this mean? I hope it doesn’t mean no blood on player models if you have low settings?
@CRUSHED:
i have a OC’d 970 gtx, i7 2600k @5.2ghz and 16gb 1600mhz ram
i can play at 120hz / 120fps on max settings on 1920x1080 even on 40+ player servers
just copy my setup clay
This is pretty much how it works. Overclock your CPU like hell and you can probably run at 120fps in almost any situation.
My 2700K @ 4,6Ghz ran better than my current 5820K @ 3,8Ghz. This game is only limited by shit CPU optimisation. As I’ve said before I can run Battlefield 4 with every setting maxed out and never see FPS drop below 110 (2x GTX970) even with 64 players.
This game though; a bit of lava in Citadel and it’s 90fps city even with every graphics setting on low at 1080p. I could make Chiv run considerably better by overclocking, but it’s sad that a 3,8Ghz Haswell doesn’t have enough single core power to run it properly.
If you were throwing or going to throw a javelin when you got hit, more of often than not you will get stuck in some kind of a loop that prevents you from raising your shield no matter how hard you click. I believe it’s a bug that never got fixed.
