This’d be fun, I can just imagine a guy in shaft jumping from the elevator to insta-kill his opponent on the way down, then dying when hitting bottom.

You can already simulate this class as Archer. In fact it’s the ONLY kind of Archer I play.
Go Heavy Crossbow. (Pretend these are hatchets.)
Attempt to headshot Knight.
Miss and hit the sky nipple.
Go on a killing spree with the Cudgel while screaming “HEEeEEeeeELP!!!”
I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who plays Archer this way either.

The blocking against a MAA swings a nearly impossible. With this in mind those who chose this class in particular can literally just run straight into and swing non-stop without having to worry about being countered. I know i’m not the only one that knows this, and anyone that feels differently are obviously MAA variant players not wishing for their class to be changed so they can have an -unfair- advantage. This class already has a dodge system that was downgraded but still seems a bit unfair due to the speed of the dodge being damn near impossible to see it coming because the character disappears on screen while this action occurs. The main problem is the blocking against the MAA and it needs to be fixed because you cannot block their attacks unless you block instantly when you see them pull back, but if they pull back and feint, you’ve pretty much just blocked for no reason and then here come the maa’s unblockable combos, now you are dead…
God, whine whine whine. I see this so much. MaAs are balanced well. This is one of those times where the term “learn to play” or even “learn to compensate” works.
RE: Eliminate weapon unlocking.
I say that you’re just being lazy here, OP.
Unlocking all the weapons is a fun incentive, getting to try out weapons you’ve not used before.
If you’re able to use every weapon from the get-go, you’ll see a lot less game traffic :/
RE: Knights… Knights everywhere!
Newer players don’t often weapon switch, based on the class they are fighting.
If everyone is running around with swords and spear Knights can seem to live forever, as the are less susceptible to piercing damage than they are blunt damage.
The fastest way through a Knight is to beat it down not poke it full of holes.
Oh so very true… The class I see most of lately is still Vanguard, but I have seen an increase in the number of MaAs, mostly noobs who won’t dodge or block.
RE: Fix the Shield
Actually, it’s easier to use the shield than the normal blocks, but people will often just put it up thinking they’re completely safe - if you wanna know why, look at my tutorial on Tactics and Tutorials section - shields are directional, too!
And yes, sometimes a person can hit right through a shield. Model clipping issues.

Any vanguard can be easily countered so long as you know the weapon he’s using and what it’s good at. Slash spam vanguards are especially easy to counter - block, then hit with a faster weapon.
IT’S THAT SIMPLE.

I like it as is now, allows me to take in the scores at a glance - no need for anything else, except maybe assists and objective points.

I agree. But I do not agree with the OP, however - it’d just be annoying for an archer or MaA that’s about to die dodge back a few times, heal by spamming his special, then jump back into the fray.

Incorrect, good sir! The reason they stopped building castles was because the cannon could blow open the walls far too easily! Knights were no longer on the battlefield because a simple hand pistol could blow right through their armor!

I find it incredibly weak that weapons function at maximum damage throughout the entire swing.
I agree with this completely. It’s absurd really. Getting beheaded by the pause at the apex of a wind-up when you’re flanking someone from behind, for instance, is ridiculous. Likewise, a close distance polearm, or other long weapon, without sufficient wind-up hitting for maximum damage is just as equally ridiculous.
I don’t think anyone would disagree with this.
I do. Completely. Because it would completely destroy a person defending from a close-range man’s attack’s defense.
