I made a hotkeys menu / config.cfg system for the Source and Gold Source engines. My mod focuses on hotkeys. I wanted to add more on FPS and InterwebZ settings, but that has been done to death by everybody else, so, I haven’t bothered yet.

Valve only released the SDK Base 2006 and 2007 version of the Source Engine. I believe neither run on Mac. Eventually Alien Swarm was released, but I don’t think that’s available on Mac either(?). Even if they did use the Alien Swarm Source Engine, it would probably require a bunch of work. And they’re already doing Chivalry for the UDK Engine.
Mainly everybody is waiting around for the next SDK Base. Seems to never be coming and we gotta wait on Half-Life 3. Hopefully HL3 allows modders to make money. Otherwise Valve is once again taking a poop on you. oh wait, you get some education out of it.
Getting stuck in attack combos…
At first it’s confusing, then it’s annoying, then it’s hilarious. But now it’s annoying again.
Like, I press attack before I can even do a second attack and it forces me to do the move. I also don’t have the hotkey to pull back the weapon, so, I’m stuck… Obviously attack combos will be improved and is a nice addition, but this really needs tweaked asap.

It’s also not like the other maps, which are cramped like HeII. Body blocking causes an insane amount of lagg in some Internet games and the old Source engine is no exception. Because of the slow speeds and the amount of n00bZ, body blocking is through the roof. It’s one thing if a skilled player is behind you, but everybody else is totally useless. Even a skilled player can have difficulties getting around you or moving back

Because the crusader “Circle Jerk” is the most fun move in the game. It’s where you circle around your team and the enemies into the player you want to kill(IE the jerk).
Because heavy knights are slow and shieldless, they’re less valuable in this map. Usually you have to counter the HK with a HK itself(Which I find to be the dullest battle in the game), a maa/serg, and a guardsman(As for guardsman, I was just trying to counter that with the small axe, but only began my testing).
Ranged classes are playable on the map.
The biggest issues are the box map(See the whole map/players, lagg), plenty of audio(Lagg), catys(Lagg like HeII), ton of ranged crap(Lagg, IE it will slow you don’t even if it doesn’t hit).
As for Chivalry: Medieval Combat’s Battleground level, the gameplay is totally different. I think it could use the old Battleground tbh.
640x480 HUD is so massive…
Even a blind girl could see it. It’s officially the worst HUD I’ve ever seen in a video game.

Maybe has something to do with AoC players bobbing their head up and down constantly? It’s a good tactic, I was getting into it. Til my ram died and would get stuck looking up or at the ground… lol. And then my graphics card died making this strategy impossible :/
It’s scary as HeII watching a hk speed, jump, and bob…

My computer finally died not even a few weeks ago, THANK THE UNIVERSE! Still jobless, so, bought a random cheap computer. The problem is it’s small… And the graphics card I bought didn’t fit -_- Luckily they took it back. Hopefully I can go back within a few weeks and get one that will. They had like 12 or more graphics card to pick from at Best Buy, next time I’mma ask the computer people.
In the mean time do you know of any graphics card that will fit in say, a three/four inch computer?

Not be forced back to the throwing weapon. There needs to be something different, anything. Right now it takes forever to pull the throwing weapon, throw something, pull the throwing weapon again, and not throw and pull any other weapon. To the point where you gotta knife-block cause sader/knight cannot pull weapons fast.
It takes quite a while to adjust to the super slow weapong switching and against any average or above player you really don’t stand a chance.
Right now the only option is to hope your computer/InterwebZ doesn’t lagg and actually hit the button on time.

In reality do people prance around like a MMA/Serg or Crusader(In Battleground)? And what is the real difference in movement speed between armor and armorless?
Chivalry should have far more movement options, so, dodging pots should be much easier.
There should be a way to break the pot on the MMA himself.

From what I understand AoC didn’t really have too many model makers and animators. Plus melee combat is a lot of work.
Chivalry is said to be all third person models(?), IE no first person hands/weapons compared to third person. That should help cut down on bugs and work. Next they added a new blocking version where you have to block and take a direction, so, something what you’re talking about is probably in the works or could be patched in.
As for Input, I think the later versions of the Source engine added the Hydra, but I have no idea about Unreal Engine III / UDK. Keyboards/Mice/Controllers can be rather expensive for most people. But 360’s xController is a default Windows controller. I believe the Hydra is more of a motion controller though?

The stamina system is already garbage, but after 100 kills irl you’d need to eat and take a nap…
