I don’t know about melee but I am sure the shield on the back deflects arrows - at least I recall firing arrows at crossbowmen and the back shield deflected it.
That’s right , arrows are deflected by the shield on back , but melee…
Survival idea that makes sense.
Hello everybody !
I heard that the Survival mode idea is running around a lot , so here I am in order to offer a concept for it which will make sense in Chivalry.
I really hope there won’t be something like “Zombies for CoD idiots , Lollzzz !!”.
I saw the idea of peasants revolt , I thought on it and here’s how it could work pretty nice:
The Order captures an Agathian city and claims it as their own , the people of the city are very disappointed by the defeat and they decide to begin a revolution in order to drive the Order forces away.
However the people will not be bare-handed , they have sources of weapons ( Stolen , Leaked ) , some may fight better than others ( those who were City Guards before and such ) , that would make a great survival experience as you play in a group of the Order and you fight against waves of angry townspeople , who , let’s not forget are armed to some degree.
What do you think ?

If they make a survival mode I really hope it will fit the game.
I hope the developers won’t jump on the “Zombies for CoD idiots , Lolzz !” idea , I hope for some sort of Arena survival ( Lions and other beasts ) , the revolt of peasants sounds good as long as it makes sense ( Town people rage against the Order who captured an Agathian city anyone ? )
Shields on back.
I’m playing Chivalry since release , and one of the things that bugged me are that when you attack someone who wields his shield on his back then your attack ignores the shield completely.
Maybe it’s one of the “Realism for Gameplay” tricks but at least give it a feeling that you hit a shield and not air ( Maybe some sort of greater staggering ).
What side does Chivalry takes ? ( After patch )
Chivalry takes my second place in the favorites ( First being Skyrim , I play only these two games ).
Now after we’ve seen the change log for the Beta ( Some played too , including me ) , after you see all the weapon changes that were made , some of them:
“Bearded Axe Attack1 windup changed from 0.6 to 0.425”
“Zweihander Attack3 windup changed from 0.75 to 0.7”
And many others…
Is the balance made for more realism ( Is the Bearded Axe really faster ? ) or are these changes made only because of a few whiners who said these weapons are OP ?
Shortly , does Chivalry goes for Realism or for Gameplay after the patch ?
Vanguard wounds ( Old bug )
Hello there developers of Chivalry !
First time I ever report a bug , but I really have to.
When you play as a Vanguard and get killed , you can see that all of your limbs ( head too ) are getting cut , the body parts aren’t flying away but you can see the slight cuts on all of the limbs , it’s really annoying and I really hope it will get fixed ( If I remember correctly the bug didn’t exist at release )
So far the Beta patch is great , the maps are amazing , keep it coming !

I’m totally in for the OP’s idea , a really great one , Tigers for animals however ( Lions too ).
Now how do we get the developers to see this ?

I hope for more of these large updates ( perhaps monthly ? ) , would definitely LOVE a LARGE scaled maps , MORE weapons ( for Archers ! ) , well , I’m AMAZED :D
