Mm the problem ive had with games like M&B online was. we would fight one hour games and after we have won… then what? we’ve nothing to show. Ranking would be an amazing addition
Nothing to show? You had fun, no?
And there are ranks already in this.
This is what is wrong with the modern gamer, they need to feel they’ve gained something…by playing a game. It’s no longer playing to play, it’s playing to rank up or something.
Annoying. What ever happened to just playing and enjoying?

Please make an DLC with a Japanese theme. It would be incredible to fight as Samurai warriors wielding katanas!
I will try and stay calm about this, but I will only say I’m against it because it goes against the theme of the original game (if I may say so), and ruin the overall feeling of it (at least for me).

By the way Allers is a troll, whenever I see him on servers he’s constantly cussing out everyone and insulting people.
Allers isn’t a troll. He’s one of the best players of the cRPG Mount and Blade mod, and could be an asset to the community here. :’|

Yes, and it wouldn’t change at all if the attack initiation controls were altered. (or only slightly)
Also, trying to implement new systems in melee combat is necessary, else the only system people will ever think of is that of M&B and WotR, which is very perfectible.
No opposition here. I’m only suggesting to offer both possibilities so the player can decide what he likes best. (Which is what M&B also did, as I repeatedly mentioned.)
I meant M&B combat system is nearly ugly, or at least not nearly as nice to watch as the one of Chivalry.
Also, M&B didn’t give any option besides auto-block (btw, I never found what was different about it, but peopl seem to know, I assume it allows for easy attacks to get blocked easier), and combat speed. So it’s not as if they were offering two clearly different combat styles (and the fact you said is several times won’t make it any truer).
What’s more, while I would totally agree there’s no wrong in allowing both systems to co-exist, I fear there would be balance issues between the two of them, if any coexistance is possible at all (which might not be the case, one should ask the devs). Anyway, more work on a combat system might also seem superfluous considering there is already one working well, and the amount of work it would require to introduce, settle nicely and balance everything out.

Fists in AoC could block. For a while they could even block arrows :P
You mean they consider no one to be manly enough to catch arrows with their bare hands and throw it back to the ender ?
RE: Team Killing Solution
Have team damage be dampened the further away you are from enemies, up to 90%. This would prevent team killing at the spawn and the like.

RE: What's the Point of Broadhead Arrow?
Honestly - I hope they scrap the different damage vs. different classes completely for arrows. It’s not really an interesting gameplay mechanic at all. And it has no basis in reality on top of that - bodkin arrows beyond point blank range were no better at penetrating plate armor than broadheads, but broadheads created significantly larger wounds on any enemy lightly armored enough to actually let an arrow penetrate. Bodkins were used because they were much cheaper and quicker to produce and the lethality was usually enough anyway - even if it doesn’t kill you outright, it’s very difficult to continue fighting once you’ve got an arrow in your chest.
I’d much prefer it to be broadheads are the higher damage arrow and bodkins are faster and have a straighter flight trajectory, while both do piercing. That’s not only more realistic, but gives actual variety between arrow choices; compensate for a shortbow’s low damage with broadheads or make it extremely accurate up close with bodkins; turn your warbow into a mid-range one hit killer against light classes or turn it into a medieval sniper rifle.
Also, Martin’s idea of ammo difference is also a very good idea. (+0.25 for martin).
RE: Issues with Team Killing.
I believe Manual TKing punishment is the only way to fight human unreliability (by using admins or votekicks).
Reverse friendly damage is one of the things that are absolutely hated by quite a huge number of people I have met.
Also, Tking can be as frustrating as funny : epic fails caused by TKs are a reliable source of "lol"s.

On a serious note! Because this isn’t a game breaking bug its been put on lower priority for a while, should be taken care of soon.
