I’m kind of drawn to this mod after hearing about how Call-of-Duty’d the main game has become. However, I fear that I’m in the limbo between casual and competitive. Whenever I play, I do try to play smart and I vary my tactics and feint whenever it seems like it will work (I used to just feint all the time and obviously this wouldn’t work against players who weren’t brain dead). I’m not so bad that I’d just LMB spam and constantly get into block fests or hit-trades. However, I have not delved nearly as deeply into tactics and mechanics as any competitive player and I currently have 123 hours in the game, which is nothing compared to any competitive or serious player’s hours. So I wonder: would a player like me enjoy this mod? I can already tell that I’d probably hate the current build of the main game. Am I doomed to just not play this game anymore if Promod is too hard for me while the main game is too dumb for me?

RE: Last patch killed the game..
There is just no way you change that much about a game and be able to call it an improvement. I am not even going to go into detail about whether the game was good before and whether the game is good now. The simple fact of the matter is that you don’t fucking flip a game upside down when the game has been out for this long. Let’s say that the game had been a dumbed-down, watered-down game for a long time and suddenly became a really competitive, high skill-ceiling game (basically the opposite of what actually happened) 8 months after release. That’s still fucking up a game big time. There is simply no such thing as a drastic overhaul after this much time being an improvement.

RE: Rank Glitch.
So I logged off Steam today, switched between a lot of servers and it’s still the same. Anybody an Idea how I might be able to change it back manually?
I have seen another user on this forum have a similar issue and the suggestion was to completely close the Steam program (as in end the process from Task Manager). If you haven’t done that and you only signed off then maybe that might work.

RE: "?INT?UTGameUI.Errors.UnableToJoinInvite_Message?"
I always get this problem. In any case, though, if I join off a friend via the steam overlay and close the overlay right away, I don’t seem to have any problems actually joining the server.

RE: Maul Nerf?
MaA surviving the Maul Overhead to the torso is one of the main reasons for this thread.
Maul is probably the worst weapon in the game vs MaA anyway, since it’s so very easy to dodge due to its very slow speed and short reach, so a more reliable 1-hit-kill would be fair, at least in my opinion (and I main MaA).
The damage buff we’re talking about is 125 Blunt -> 135 Blunt on the overhead.
It would also be more incentive to consider the weapon a valid choice in general against all classes, and not just a messing-around weapon only seeming even half-way effective for those crazy enough to try to master it.
Give it a Risk:Reward where the reward is a more tangible amount of damage to be won, rather than the reward mostly being a feeling of satisfaction for killing people with an oversize hammer.A slightly stronger overhead would also give more reason for its existence when compared to the Grand Mace, which is basically a more sensible and efficient version of the Maul.
Yep, you speak sense Dibbz. Without that slight damage buff, the maul no longer has a unique and viable role. Right now? Viable, yes it is, if you master it. But there’s really not much of a reason to use it above other knight 2h weapons that are also high damage dealers (except for the double axe; most weapons in the game are more reliable than that).

RE: Maul Nerf?
@War:
There is no need to talk about this anymore because there was a vote and the option “One shot lights in torso, but vanguards in head, and not one shot knight” won big time. So i just wanted an update on will it be fixed (returned to previous state)?
But that’s how it functions now… You’re thinking of the swing. Or do you want MAA blunt damage resistance nerfed?
You’re entirely mistaken. The maul does not at all oneshot all lights in the torso with an overhead. It only does so for archers. It needs to be able to overhead oneshot MAA’s in the torso as well or else it really has no defining use over other weapons, like the pole axe and grand mace.

RE: The Current Problem With Archers
The annoying scenario that OP describes is only a persistent issue when servers don’t enforce an archer limit. I think that servers should by default limit archers proportionally according to the player count and that admins should have to manually change the server options if they want to allow more archers. The way it is now, admins have to manually limit archers or else there is no limit. Archers completely wreck the balance of TO games when there is no limit: they just make the objective impossible to reach.

RE: Just what the hell did you do to comboing??
For me, combo failure seems to happen more often when I’m moving. Not sure if the moving is the reason behind combos not working but I sure hope it isn’t.

RE: Just what the hell did you do to comboing??
I’m not 100% sure, but I think it might be that now you can’t sprint and combo at the same time. If this really is true, then what the hell TB??? There is no reason for that sort of change!

RE: Just what the hell did you do to comboing??
Yeah, I can occasionally combo in fights but again, this inability to properly chain attacks together at times is rather new for me. For the most part I was able to properly combo before this recent mysterious “bug”, if it indeed it is a result of something actually being broken.
