      The solution to this problem is to not give a shit. If you don’t care about your k/d or getting killed, there is nothing that can interfere with your game play. As soon as you get mad, you get into “tryhard-mode” which only makes it worse because you are forcing yourself to be better, kill someone, etc.

      If you play TO, try to play the first two maps with classes you are bad with or loadouts you never play, because then you expect to die a lot and won’t care when it happens - just have fun with it. Then when you are relaxed and warmed up, you play your normal class/setup.

      I do share peoples hatred for archers, though. Sometimes I make it a personal mini-game to hunt and kill an annoying archer as many times as possible during a game, preferably from behind which they don’t like.

      I can’t see the Beta Feedback forum or access it via the link (“You are not authorised to read this forum.”) so I post some screenies here.

      The peasants look weird, and have helped themselves to some helmets. I don’t know if the helmets are intended, though…

      In the MAA loadout, the Norse Sword icon have changed to the dagger, and the Falchion model don’t show when you click on it.

    • RE: CU1 Patch 2 Now Online! Patch Notes inside!

      After having play testing over two days I can already say now that I don’t like how the game feels more slow and sluggish than it did before the patch.

      I mainly play MaA + Knight and with this new patch, it feels like my characters have taken some permanent ability-degrading drugs. Seriously, so many core mechanics have been changed at once. All the things learnt and mastered through 400 hours of play now have been changed, modified or removed. There were so many tools available to spice up combat and make it interesting and fun pre-patch, but those are now gone or made useless.

      I really hope people will realize how this patch simplify and waters down the game - and that we had to see it brought to life to actually see how bad it is. Fortunately, in this case we have the ability to go back in time and undo it - revert back to the previous version and learn from the mistakes. I’m not saying the previous version was perfect, but at least introduce balancing and changes properly and not in one big package like it was done here.

      I’m pretty sure it’s because you don’t have .NET 4.5 installed. Get it from here, then it should work fine after you have installed it. :)

      It is possible to try out the customization mode by opting into the “sdk -” beta in the Chivalry Beta game. This will start a download of about 2gb (which is mainly the UDK/modding files) but if you launch the game you will have an extra menu at the start screen to the customization mode.

      I was so thinking of using some house banners from Game of Thrones, now my life is ruined.

      If you build the emblem from scratch with your own style and some alterations to the design, I can’t see why you could not do this. There exist tons of emblems and symbols close to those of GoT already, as most of them resemble animals.

      Just draw them in your own style - it’s funnier to have something you created by hand into the game, than a copy-paste anyway. :)

      The flags’ cloth physics does use PhysX. This looks like their vertices are being stretched out for some reason. That could be because of your video card, if there’s some VRAM corruption, a bad overclock, or some other issue messing with the values used in the simulation. Your card doesn’t have to overheat to have problems.

      We haven’t tested with GPU PhysX because we use very little physics in the game in general, it seemed unlikely that turning it on would do anything for most people. Also, when we were developing this remotely, only a few team members even had Nvidia hardware.

      I wouldn’t know if it’s my GPU acting up, but with the setting set to false everything works perfect and I have no problems in other games whatsoever. Also, when I had the setting set to true, almost every time a new map was loaded (with banners) everything would freeze and I would get a crash to desktop with “UDK.exe has stopped working” error. These crashes stopped when I set it back to false.

      But if this is caused by my video card or some conflicts in the game code, I don’t know.
