MAA don’t really even have that low of damage if you’re not using a dagger and attacking knees. MAA can 2shot knights with flanged mace yet are significantly faster and have the dodge. For some reason a lot of people don’t seem to switch to the proper weapons for the situation though and use sharp on knights, or never use overheads but complain they don’t do enough damage.
People are heavily overreacting to the fact that MAA can’t lunge-attack anymore. What is the point of a class having to get up close if it can just use it’s attacks from 10ft away? Also, what would be the point in picking VG if you can have the same range as MAA and still be faster, attack faster and still 2shot a knight? It was called “dodge” because that was what it was intended to do. All these biased MAA players are crying that the MAA is helpless now when it still is more mobile, faster and can still 2shot knights. Plus, weren’t lunge-attacks the VG’s special ability, not MAA?
People use sharp because of the longer range of the Broadsword and Norse sword. Not only that, but sharp is more effective on Archers, other MaA and it doesn’t work badly on Vanguards.
As I said, all they need to do is make the MaA leap slightly shorter distance? Or perhaps make it so leap attacks have a longer windup and/or recovery? That would make the ‘OP’ leap-attacks more blockable, and the longer recovery would leave them a bit more open. That is, if people really need such things to defeat MaA.
