There is a difference between feedback, constructive criticism even just criticism and unsubstantiated rubbishing type comments. And after all the work getting so savagely rubbished and such negative comments on things we cant even recognize as our map - yes it hurts. And we don’t mind saying that:-)
You must I think somewhat forgive my younger sons enthusiasm in his reply about - but I don’t think it can be characterized as bashing the developers, quite divisive for you to say so actually.
So don’t tell me to learn to take criticism - I love taking criticism and over months it has helped improve the map so much.
Some of you out there know me a bit better and won’t be surprised to know that I have nothing but good will and warm feelings to the competition winners and the efforts they put in, and yes of course I am carrying on helping everyone with my little bits of experience where I can.
I can totally understand that you feel hurt, and that you don’t think the feedback given is fair. And I do agree that some of the feedback given is unspecific and contradicting at times. But Tornbanner are the judges and know what they want. It’s far from a requirement to be able to give good feedback as a developer or person at all. You will have to learn how to take feedback that not that great into heart as well. People are expressing their feeling even though they might be unspecific or harsh. But they are trying to tell you something and want to improve your map.
Saying that their feedback is not legitimate or nonsense is not a great way to respond to people. Not when people take their time to give you feedback, specially when those are the creators of the game.
I do think the comment was more focus towards TheHussar. It’s not professional nor a nice way to respond. But we all come from different cultures, where we deal with feedback in different ways I suppose. But this is just how I feel about it and my opinion.
