Because every time they log onto my favorite team objective server they ruin the fun for everyone. They just annihilate anyone who hasn’t put in 1000+ hours into this game and it shows why Chivalry went from a popular game upon release to a niche that caters to the neckbeard. Steam sales bring in new players but they never stay because they get their asses handed to them by the likes of PDK, Perses, Bloody Nine and the rest of the 1000+ hour virgin brigade.
I can appreciate the learning curve of Chiv but not everyone has the damn luxury of living with their parents rent free so they can git gud by dragging a virtual sword with a mouse 60 hours per week. Could you kindly split them off from the rest of the player base? It only takes a few of those bastards to dictate the outcome of a TO match. I can appreciate the learning curve of Chiv but these guys are truly unique and deserve only to face off against other neckbeards who routinely complete a TO match with 53 kills and 12 deaths.
Will the ballistas ever be fixed?
The turrets will lock themselves at a downward elevation or the entire ballista will become dislodged from the ground making them damn near impossible to use. The latter is especially painful for Agatha on Citadel.
I don’t get it, what’s taking so long to get these things fixed?

We had similar requests in the days of Battlefield 2 etc., However people playing with their friends tend to work together, often using voice comms, so stacking a bunch of these on one team tends to unbalance the game to a point where everyone else is not enjoying it.
Yes and it’s infuriating. Want to club baby seals, fine, go ahead and save your lunch money and rent a server for that purpose. Fuck clans, squads, whatever that stack on public server. Just now on the official west coast TO server the jackasses from wK are curb stomping Agatha as they exclusively play Mason. Fuck those guys.

I am a casual player, but I like reading forums (I have less than 100 hours in game).
This thread is a pretty classic debate and I have seen it play out in all kinds of games with limited populations.
Here is part of your problem: The people who think watching videos will make the game population grow.
It simply won’t because a pathetic part of any community even reads forums and that portion probably won’t have the time to read.
You may think of it as dedication, I think of it as a 30 year old who gets home from work and has an hour to play something. Do they start up a game where they have to watch 6 videos to have a chance to even ENJOY the game? Unlikely.
This does not mean your game has to be dumb or even simple, it just needs to be intuitive. The mechanics need to be learnable from within the game.
Firstly, that means you have to eliminate things like keybinding and .ini advantages. Those are clearly outside the game.
Next you have to make any mechanic in the game visually obvious.
It has to be intuitive. If you are holding up your shield to block and you are out of stamina, but your shield is still there and a weapon goes through it… that is not visually obvious. Screw the little yellow bar, as long as the shield still looks like it should block then it should block.
This is the difficulty with the game currently and it is something only TB can fix. ProMod people don’t have the animators or artists to make everything intuitive (and they don’t want too, they are the video watchers and users of arcane tweaks and manipulations of the game).
If you need extensive tutorials to ENJOY the base game and not competitive play, then your game isn’t designed well enough to communicate basic information about mechanics. So either you change the mechanics to line up with the visuals (this patch) or you change the visuals to line up with the mechanics.

It’s been a long time since I played a game that made me rage so hard has Chivalry. I definitely got my money’s worth out of it but after logging over 200+ hours I’ve come to the conclusion that I will never get any good at it. My dueling record crushes my self esteem and when people tease me in game I start having flash backs of being bullied in junior high. I just can’t take it anymore.
To the guy who made the mine shaft dueling map (the one with the elevator): I hope there’s a special place in hell for you.

Uninstalling it is not enough. I don’t want to see the words Chivalry: Medieval Warfare in my Steam library. Can I give it away for free to anyone? If anyone would like my copy I’ll give it to you if Steam will allow it.
