I just wish I didn’t have to use a Buckler with the Flail. I get owned by MAA when using the buckler so have to switch to my Norse Sword with no buckler up to compete.

RE: Why do servers have more playerslots than they can handle?
This is my biggest problem with the game that stops me enjoying it and forces me to disconnect. Personally I’ve never had a good ping on a server with more than 24 players. A ping of 50-60 is acceptable (I guess). Once it goes higher than this (it sits around 80-100 on 32 man servers) the game gets considerably less fun and faster weapons become even more difficult to parry.
I also second the opinion that the official servers are the worst. When I play on the Aus - NSW servers here in Australia they have 24 man limit but my ping always sky rockets combined with teleporting.
I day dream of a Chivalry 2 some time in the future where they use an engine that has way better networking. Oh to play this game with a ping of 20-30 like every other game I play online…

RE: Man at Arms
I find the knockback of a lot of attacks makes it impossible to get in the face of MAA when using the knight; as not only do they dodge away easily to begin with you are actively knocking them away as well.
MAA are great in 1v1 situations. It’s a fact of life.

RE: High ping players wrecking up the servers
There are a few things they could do. The server browser doesn’t even sort by ping by default, which it should IMHO. I have made this recommendation many times, but in addition to sorting by ping, the browser should make it more clear through visual cues which servers are high ping (e.g. 450ms) and which ones are good (35ms). I would go so far as to have the filter set at 200ms by default, too.
Honestly, most of the laggers are just completely oblivious. When I tell them the server is in singapore they’re like, “WHAT, THAT’S DUMB LOL”.
This sounds like the best idea. I also feel that the majority of these high ping folks don’t have a clue they have a horrible ping.
Back in my day I was playing games on a 28.8k modem and you had a config file for every game you played to tweak your ping and everything else. These young whipper snappers today don’t seem to have the internet smarts. Get off my lawn!

High ping players wrecking up the servers
Late every night here in Australia, without fail the local populated servers on the east coast start filling up with players with pings ranging from 200-500. Maybe these players have never played an online game before, I’m not sure; but some poor sucker ends up taking the time to start vote kicking them all; only to have replacement high ping players from Europe, The Americas, Asia etc. connecting and starting the whole process all over again. These players obviously don’t know what the fuck and end up doing loads of team damage and otherwise warp around achieving little.
Maybe Torn Banner could fix the server browser to default to local servers or only display servers under 100 ping. Alternatively, have a big message pop up when you open the server browser explaining how pings work.

RE: Lonely Knights in FFA
I mostly play Vanguard in FFA as I find the Zwei the best weapon for me in FFA. FFA is all about getting kills as fast as you can, usually in small groups.
I play knight sometimes and when I do I usually run a Messer and sometimes a Maul. I way prefer the Maul in objective mode where it’s less chaotic. I usually see 50% Vangits, and the rest Keniggits and MAA in FFA. -
Please limit servers to 24 players.
A simple request. The ping is already bad in this game. Having more than 24 people on a server puts peoples pings of 55-65 up to 80-100 and makes the game considerably more random.

RE: My opinion about balance in the latest version
I’m a Knight/Vanguard player who also feels the weapon balance is great. I primarily play objective with a bit of FFA thrown in. The only weapon I never see used anymore is the Falchion. I can’t see any reason to pick it when compared to a Broadsword or a Norse Sword. It needs something going for it. It has comparable hits to kill to the other swords but worse range and a weaker stab.
I also find it hard to pick a Double Axe over a Messer due to all the archers and MAA running round these days. On these faster tricksy classes hitting that devastating swing on the Messer is easier than the massive overhead of the Double Axe. However this is more a symptom of the general class line ups. I feel giving the Double Axe pure swing damage for the swing while leaving the overhead as chop would really make it a versatile and far more often picked weapon. The other thing is the Messer has a really solid stab. It’s a fantastic weapon in this patch.
I rarely see the Claymore used anymore. It’s fun to use due to the speed and fast combos but it just doesn’t put your opponent out of action quick enough and it is an average brawling weapon for this reason.
As far as weapon balance goes I just want to see the animations fixed up for the pole arm stabs. Pole arms also seem to act just like extra long swords now. They don’t have a dead zone if your opponent gets too close which removes their supposed disadvantage. However, I don’t think they are overpowered at all.
The Bearded Axe is also a bit iffy. It’s not real fun to play as the only ace up your sleeve is the ridiculously fast overhead otherwise it’s just very average. With its damage output and reach I can’t see why you’d pick it up over a Messer. Maybe giving the option of wielding it one handed would see it getting more use.

RE: Pole hammer vs Halberd utility
The halberd stab is really hard to read, as it doesn’t look like an attack unless you’re to the side of the person performing it (or if you’re a bit further away). It’s the same for most polearms though and feints with tehir stabs or spearstabs are close to unreadable.
This. Polearms have mucked up animations that do damage while it still appears to be in windup half the time and feinting is so hard to deal with thrust wise.
