RE: Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - Video list !
GiantBomb did a great review of the game, and seemed very impressed by the sound (Sir Loin)!
RE: If Looking For Clan! - POST HERE
Looking for a clan.
Here’s what I can do for you:
Play semi-regularly, as my schedule allows, with some amount of skill
Donate substantially (and regularly) to mitigate server costs
Provide top-notch server administration, to include customized tools that will enhance ease of administration (via server-side scripting/log parsing)
Promote enjoyable in-game environment. Some of you may recall me from AoC.
Here’s what I require from you:
Leaders who value Leadership. I expect Clan Leaders to perform their duties in a mature, fair, and non-petty way. Slow to anger, quick to intervene when the quality of the gaming experience decreases.
Opportunities to improve the community. In return for healthy and recurring donations, I require access to server logs so that I can work on my Admin scripts/tools.
Admin privileges. My gaming experience is very important to me, so when someone gets out of line, I like to have the ability to do something about it. See my creds below.
Flexibility. I can’t always make it to clan events, because I work/travel, etc. Generally, the sum of my other contributions should make up for this.
I started playing AoC about 5 years ago, and have played with most of you. I contributed monetarily to Medieval Mayhem (||MM||) while a member of that clan, and admin’d during that period of several years, until DirtyJob left. I can’t think of one real complaint or accusation against me as an admin. As a player I’m sure some found me entertaining, perhaps some didn’t, but it certainly can’t be said that I am boring.
Feel free to PM me if you are interested in discussing where you’d like your guild to be in the future, and how I can help get you there.
RE: Let's say goodbye to Age of Chivalry properly!
It occurs to me that I should probably curate by getting a hold of the dedicated server files for AoC - wish there was an install that wasn’t steam dependent, so if I wanted to put together a server years later, it’d be good to go!
AoC was to me as an adult what Tribes was in my teenage years. It taught me many lessons with regard to server administration, lessons that I plan to implement in any servers I administer in Chivalry.
For Chivalry, I am going to focus on developing a few scripts to help Admins run better servers. Log parsers to pinpoint griefing, pull records on specific players, etc. This will be a fun side-project to playing the game!
RE: Guild TOB taking over offical server
I’ve played on the servers during times when TOB has had a considerable presence, and I’ve not personally experienced them kicking anyone off or harassing anyone - this isn’t to say that they aren’t guilty of it, but I have seen them play by the rules on several occasions.
RE: It's players like this who don't deserve to play
If you do some research on the site here, you’ll find that you can initiate a votekick by activating your console with the tilda (`) key, and typing votekick playername
It will attempt to match the name if it isn’t identical, after which you can confirm. This starts the voting process.
RE: How'd we do?
I played this game for nearly 5 years, and the only reason I stopped was because I acquired a beta key for Chivalry. SO many laughs were had, and it’s the only game that was able to pull me back into gaming time and time again. The learning curve was a bit high at first, but I loved watching myself progress in each class I invested time into. The day you walked onto the battlefield and just dominated for an entire round, parrying, dodging, playing the way the game was meant to be played….it was a beautiful day. It could affect my mood. We ran with some cool crews!
5 Easy Steps to Maximize Your Gaming Experience
I have been reading a lot about (and experiencing no small amount of) griefing in the past few weeks. It has been frustrating to see some of those ‘entrusted’ with beta access doing their very best to spoil the experience for those of us who value a good gaming environment, but the times they are a changin’. Tomorrow is release day!
This means that many (myself included) will be running dedicated servers. Some will manage them effectively and promote a great environment for cohesiveness, teamwork, and hilarity, some less so. One thing is certain: cream always rises. Here are some ways we can work to limit the amount of griefing and help foster an environment that is conducive to a great day on the battlefield:
Turn today’s youth into tomorrow’s teammates.
Use your Admin permissions to promote awesomeness.
Spread the good word.
Respond to defeat with dignity…then repay it in kind.
Don’t harsh the mellow.
RE: Beta Keys for free, but not for purchasing pre-order-version?
EDIT: it’s nice to see, nobody from support answeres the threats of paying customers, even some moderators and administrators are online all the time…
Purchasing a product and receiving exactly what was promised (a reserved version of the game upon release) does not equate to the consumer getting everything they feel entitled to. If someone were threatening me, I wouldn’t respond either. That’s not how civil discourse works.
