    • RE: Official low rank servers - you cannot be serious

      @Albatross8:

Whenever these types of topics show up and the TC posts a pic as proof I always find it disappointing they always search servers by players and not ping. You wouldn’t actually play in those 150-400 ping servers so why bring them up as evidence you can’t find a server except for low ranking ones. Searching by player also denies the existence of 24 player servers, servers that many people actually prefer playing on. I just don’t find this search type to be quite effective at making a point. Yes, there are a lot of new player servers but many of them may not actually be playable for you anyways considering ping.

The server browser doesn’t allow that many servers to be displayed at once without scrolling. In other words, there were 24 slots server but all full, just not shown in the pic.

Some of you have absolutely no common sense. I just wanted to play C:MW - against whom and what rank they were really didn’t matter to me at all, and still doesn’t.
But splitting a already somewhat small community in further pieces by applyling a “RANK 0-15 ONLY” filter to a lot of servers doesn’t help at all - and the best thing about this: When you finally find a server to join, take a look at the scoreboard and see how many players with rank 0 - 15 there are; when I did last time, most of them were in between this range despite these low rank servers having several free slots each.

Also, lest we forget: Team Objective mode, don’t pretend being a medieval version of Rambo by trying to kill every one on your own, but instead, work together. Removing the filter seems like a step into the right direction to me, the only missing feature is a working team-balance to prevent people from stacking (as it often happens and then none can hide, neither me nor anyone else on my team).

Wait did those silly buggers make a ton of low rank servers agin because its a sale???

It doesn’t solve the problem of people complaining. It only delays it by two days and makes it worse. As they all learn how to play badly. Then they think they are good. They hit rank 16 and because they think they are good anyone who’s better than them is instantly a hacker and they ragequit never to be seen from again.

      Yep, exactly my thoughts.

Just started up Chivalry, hoping to find a good server to play on. Not only were my expectations disappointed, but I also started questioning the person’s reason responsible for the game servers at TBS.

    • RE: Some completely random thoughts/complaints

I agree, there really need to be fewer low rank servers. In almost every game, low and high skilled players are mixed and put together in two (or sometimes even more) teams.
How should the new ones get better when they don’t get to play against them until they’ve reached level 15? The real issue, for me at least, is that there are already so few good servers running Team objective game mode and putting restrictions, such as “Rank 0 - 15 only”, on them isn’t any helpful.

Don’t really think that so many people love FFA though; it’s just wait and then finish off the wounded who are in combat.

In terms of experienced players, I don’t think one can and should blame TBS. If beginners don’t look for guides or videos on how to get better on their own, then they should not be forced to. I mean, the are game developers and not babysitters…

    • RE: A couple words on the new patch

Config file got reset, as always…

I do now experience extreme flickering on all player models on the map battlegrounds, a bug which is known to me, but got fixed eventually, so it seems like it got patched back in. Chat window is barely readable at times because of bad contrast.

Otherwise yeah, sort of also experienced worse performance than before.

Sorta forgot something else very strange:

Successfully parried an enemy’s attack which pushed him a few meters away from my location. Never experienced that before.

Lag could actually be one of the reasons causing this since TBS refuse to switch from Multiplay to another server provider. I mean, it’s not as if it’s been known for years now that their servers simply suck.

Got to look for one not hosted by them, maybe it’ll then feel like it used to several months ago.

    • What happened to this game…

Due to being busy and actually also playing other games, I haven’t played a round of C:MW for quite some time until now - and holy shit, this game’s been maimed.

Performance is worse than before though no apparent visual changes were made (and shadows flicker terribly badly).

Movement seems absolutely weird - for the very first time, while in several different combats, I was almost unable to move most of the time due to some movement impairment (felt like CS 1.6 where receiving a bullet gets you unable to move for almost a second).

Attacking speed - people suddenly starting to run extremely quickly while spamming LMB and mowing down everything in their path (and no, no cheater here).

I have always liked the game for its slow pace, but now it partially even feels faster than DW.

Anyone else noticed any or all of the above recently?

    • RE: Chivalry: Medieval Warfare Patch 22

Good changes apart from the new 2H sword animations…

That now looks like there is something stuck in the back of the player, making it hard for him to move properly. Also, the player should eat more food… arms are ridiculously thin.
