I think moving ship battles aren’t such a good idea as most of the team will be bored as they don’t play archer or didn’t get a siege engine. Then there’s the fact that the ingame ship models are pretty poor. They don’t have collision or much interior to speak of so you’d have to make your own ship models. What I would do though is make a map of two ships crashed into eachother, then on TDM game begin or LTS round start; spawn the players below decks and play the ship crashing sound from hillside and do a camera shake. That’ll do the job as far as making it feel like they are in a ship battle. Maybe add some more ships circling in the distance.
How do I get those sounds to be say mp3 or wav files so I can throw them in my music mixer and do fun things?
Get Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) it is a free sound editing program. Basically you just hit the record button and play the audio in game or in the editor. Then edit the file and save it as a wav.
I hope they take another look at the Knight DLC skins, they just don’t really compare to the vanguard ones.
yeah i don’t really like the knight ones, they just aren’t as beefy as the stock ones, need more muscle. I’m sure they’ll do a reskin of maa and archer, and I hope they are as quality as these new vanguard ones. But then since my main class is the knight i might feel a bit left out :(
will check in and see if I can have a word with those running it or contact the DC abuse people directly and ask for a rename
Hey thanks for that. I thought for a while that some TB mod guy was abusing his powers or some crap. Just some nobody server owner naming his server poorly and having poor sportsmanship… Cool. Glad to know I can still trust the trusty TB mods and staff with trustworthy trusting stuff.
This idea popped into my head while I was at work today. I thought it would be funny at first, but then I really thought more seriously about it… Would it be too much of a buff? How could it be offset? Would you guys be willing to test it? Just some random idea from the maul guy.
Well, when you think about it this is not such a silly idea. Consider this statement:
MaA and archer melee can Not be flinched.
Now of course that is not true, however, how often does a knight with a maul or warhammer flinch a decent MaA or decent melee archer?
If you can consider that then you’ll see that the OP’s idea is not so silly at all; it should be tested in beta IMO, it would certainly balance the field.
I’d add one thing though. Make it that 1h weapons can’t cause flinch. Leave 2h weps be.
True, but in an age where steel is the highest norm, I don’t think you’d have knights running around with patina tinted copper swords. I’m fine with anachronisms if they’re for the sake of creativity and fun, but you have to stop somewhere.
I will agree with the realism argument(s). But this game wasn’t based on realism, it is “Hollywood Realism” as I recall seeing somewhere. I am kinda suggesting the same tints the helmets currently have. Black maybe has a blue hue to it for Agatha and red for Masons, gold plated/decorative weapons like a sort of “veteran” weapon ect.ect.ect. I’m not going to go as far as to say we should have rainbow colored grand maces and bows shoot plasma
