      100% FF might not be newbie-friendly but its more fun to play as people have to watch there strikes just as they should (I believe 50% FF causes more teamdamage to happen because people are just more careless). Running around like mad slashing like an idiot or shooting arrows into melee fights are just less viable. With 50% team damage striking right through your allies is a quite powerful tactic - you can’t do this with 100%.

      Same goes for 1st person only. As people lose their ability to look around walls or behind their backs it opens more tactical options.

      Actually I think its sad that people complain about 100% friendly fire and not being able to play in third person - but I guess its because I am old and the new generation just likes their games lighter and softer (hand holding etc.).

      Pretty much totally agree. Sick of 1 v N* fights turning into ‘look how many times we can swing through each other to hit you’. 100% FF and flinch please, those who cant deal with it can go back to 32 player FFA servers or whatever it is they do.

      The key is to treat anyone on your team under level 30 as if they were another player in a FFA.

      Will they attack an enemy? Will they attack you? Will they stand there with their mouth slackly open doing absolutely nothing? Nobody knows! The fun is all about trying to adapt in time.

      I swear I have the opposite where I set everything to high and it looks exactly the same (but pretty sure I’m really on the ‘potato setting’ due to fog density etc)

      I get what you’re saying. The pavise is buggy and fragile. And you’re right. But my point is that even if it wasn’t buggy and fragile then it would still be stupid to place the pavise.

      Agreed, the pavise is just free cover when you have your back turned to the enemy. You can also use it to get really close to other archers if you spin 360 degrees every time they shoot. The placing animation is so slow that if I could rely on it on the ground I still wouldn’t drop it.

      The main problem with the pavise shield is that WE STILL CANNOT CUSTOMISE IT.

      There are a couple of modded out 15 and 24 player servers for Killing Floor (Fleshpounds only + 24 players + cramped hallways = hilarious nightmare of pain) and they seem to run just as smoothly. Ping tends to not be as good, but the game doesn’t ‘degrade’ in the same way if you know what I mean.

      If you take a critical step back, Chivalry Medieval Warfare is a VERY poorly made title that sells on concept alone.

      Look at a game like Killing Floor. Same engine, but the game runs smoother than butter at maxed settings. Things like the server browser actually work 100% of the time. All the options and settings work as intended. Connecting or disconnecting from servers is quicker than lightning and you can actually join off friends, through favorites or through steam as well. The game also has a fully fleshed out mod and admin system, making it a breeze to host custom servers.

      Both games use the Unreal Engine and you can easily see which one has more polish and programmers who actually know what they’re doing.

      Have to second this, I’ve played Killing Floor for some time now and it’s half the reason I don’t buy the whole “ah they can’t make it run good cause the Unreal Engine is bad yo” white knighting. That game runs so damn well and is fully fleshed out with mods, admin tools, automatic downloading etc.
      Every patch now I get in game, start playing and have to turn the settings down a little bit lower to keep FPS above 20…
