      @Sidewinder:

      It wasn’t just the price that was restrictive it was also the the amount of time available to buy. You know, a limited time offer.

      My point is that the limited time is arbitrary, as it is a digital item that has no limit to its duplication. i.e. you can’t run out unless every single one (including the original) were deleted from hard drives permanently.

      @The:

      But, buying into it earlier wasn’t anything exceptional. I would have done it had I known about the kickstarter.

      This is part of my point.

      Some people didn’t even know they had the option to buy it because they didn’t know there was even a kickstarter at the time. While at the same time there are those who knew yet just didn’t have the money available at the time, thus not even having a chance to buy it.

      @The:

      I hardly ever even see anyone with it to begin with, so I doubt it’s much of an issue. Doesn’t seem like anyone who bought the helm even plays now, at least in NA.

      This too.

      Not only do I still not understand the mentality of “it isn’t as cool because I’m not the only one who has it!”, but at the same time, I don’t think I’ve seen LITERALLY ANYONE use it EVER other than on the pirated version that my friend had playing on tunngle servers (in his defense, he bought it since then, he was just making sure it would run playable on his PC). So it seems like they’d only make like 10 people angry since I’ve literally never seen it used in-game.

      Speaking of the fact that everyone on the pirated version had it… Doesn’t that mean it is in the game files but we just can’t access it? Something other game companies get TONS of shit and bad press for…?

      @Sidewinder:

      I think the kickstarter helms should definitely remain exclusive to those special few people that obtained them for their support. It would be quite the kick to the balls I would imagine for those supporters if they went on sale.

      If they went on sale for the same cost ($150 I believe) there wouldn’t be anything unfair about it.

      It would be a bit much at $150 though because it wasn’t that much for just the helmet.

      That included:
      -Exclusive Wallpaper
      -The game
      -A T shirt
      -Your name in the credits
      -Soundtrack
      -Early access
      -Exclusive reveals

      -AND the helmet

      So if it went on sale it would be more like $15-$25, if we’re talking about just the helmet.

      I’ve yet to see any good argument as to how it negatively affects them by letting other people get it too. They literally lose nothing by doing so. There’s only negative if they keep it unavailable to everyone else, whereas only positive comes from making it available, i.e. more people get something they want and TBS makes more money.

      Also, does someone’s support for TBS and their game mean less if the support comes later than someone else’? I would argue that the support is just as…. supportive. lol.

      Hooray for limited time exclusives!..… right?

      Yeah I have to agree with the OP here. I could understand making it a paid helmet, but making it paid AND limited time is what bugs me. Personally I didn’t have the money to back it when it was on Kickstarter, but also think about people who just flat out didn’t even know about the game back then. Making it so those people will never get that just because they didn’t know they had the option is annoying. Limited exclusives make no sense for a digital item, it isn’t like there is a limited number of them, or that it costs TBS to manufacture another order of them. For the people who believe “if it isn’t exclusive it isn’t the same” that is just retarded, and you may have major insecurities and/or are a hipster “WHAT?! Other people have what I have?! Fuck this it isn’t cool anymore I don’t want it!” lol.

      “Oh shit that helmet is sweet! I want one! I just gotta wait till my next paycheck.” -Kickstarter has ended helmets no longer available- “FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!” :x

    • RE: Racial slurs: Why you should speak up.

      @lemonater47:

      As you are using a race as an offensive word. Meaning the person using it thinks that race is horrible.

      I think you mean “The person taking offense because they seem to have a guilty conscience”. Unless you say “You are a ni***r and that is bad because black is bad”, then someone is assuming that you are using it as an insult, thus they are to blame for having the mindset that black is bad, otherwise they wouldn’t see it as an insult.

      @Chorpyc:

      In conclusion, if your racism isn’t fun for the receiving party then it is actually racism. And you’re a cunt.

      Again, I’m FULLY against actual racism.

      But “a joke isn’t a joke unless everyone thinks it’s funny”? That isn’t how physics works bro…

      @DokB:

      Online gaming isn’t exactly the right place for the faint of heart or the thin skinned. People need to accept that it’s not going to change as long as anonymity is involved.

      Deal with it and move on.

      Not to mention a game where you have to slaughter innocent peasants as an objective and can dismember other players including exploding their heads with a hammer… This isn’t exactly Hello Kitty Online.

    • RE: Racial slurs: Why you should speak up.

      I just wanted to point out that everyone is getting upset of words people say, in a game where you literally dismember other people for wearing a different color than you…

      I’m completely against any real racism. Someone beats someone over their race? Lock em up and throw away the key. Someone says a “bad word” on an M rated game? Who cares, are you new to the internet? In the case of internet insults, most people aren’t racist that use the words and are just trying to offend the easily offended. You don’t want to see the words? Don’t read it, or go to another server. I just don’t understand the mentality of “He’s doing something I don’t like that I can easily avoid… KICK HIM!”. If my neighbor had a Nazi flag on his front door and it bothered me I wouldn’t walk up to his door to complain, I’d just steer clear of his front door. It’s a very simple solution and works very well without affecting anyone else.

      My friends and I make all sorts of very offensive jokes to each other in skype etc, we all understand that they are jokes and are not to be taken seriously. I wouldn’t want someone telling us what we can and can’t say just because it offends them, I’d tell them to leave the skype call. So I’m against butting in on what someone else might be doing for fun that isn’t affecting anyone just because the person being offended keeps choosing to read it. I say leave it up to the host of the server, if the host is against it he can kick/ban. No reason to put any burden on TBS to try to stop people from using offensive words.

      Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words are offending you when you just decapitated someone…

    • RE: Can't attack while dodging? seriously

      @DokB:

      @Steel:

      Nope, I’ve been playing since launch with no intention of leaving. I dealt with it just fine too, I still agree with it being taken out. Just because something can be beat doesn’t mean it is balanced and fair/working as intended.

      So you’re saying that this mechanic that had been in the game since release was imbalanced and not fair? Even though nothing about the maneuver was ever actually tweaked nor was any drastic change to dodge ever implemented to suddenly make the tactic OP? I still just find it strange that something could be in the game for so long and then have it removed on some unknown basis.

      Better question: You’re telling ME that TBS thought this mechanic was how they wanted it and perfectly balanced but just took it out anyways?

      And if your answer is “they just took it out because everyone was complaining like babies”, doesn’t it show a problem with a mechanic if enough people are complaining about it for them to take significant notice? Not to mention that to say that requires that you assume that TBS does things to their game that they disagree with just because people complain. In a game without a recurring payment there is no reason to try so hard to keep people playing.

      To answer your question, several things were not correct for a long time before being fixed. For example, facehugging hasn’t had much if anything (that I remember) done to it till now, and the added maps were not playable with bots for a long time (they may not be still, I haven’t checked in a long time). How long it has been doesn’t necessarily mean that something shouldn’t be changed/removed/fixed.
