Stop making EU comp. scene seem like a bunch of assholes.
Luckily we don’t all act like that.

RE: Added Respawn Time for Team Damage
This is great and all but if I’ve understood this correctly… It’s not possible to remove it, is it? Because I can easily imagine it becoming a pain in the ass while scrimming where teamkilling on purpose is a legit tactic.
RE: Chiv+ Balance: Archery
I’m sorry but I really find it funny how Non-EU players sees the Warbow as the “only viable option”.
Ah the delightfull light crossbow. Perhaps you would like to elaborate, Rumpel? Or perhaps Wulfy? ;)
Anyhow I personally feel that archers are sort of balanced except for the Light Crossbow and Shortsword. A good melee archer can really do some serious damage with the shortsword. The stamina changes sound pretty interesting but we have to watch out archers don’t become completely useless. As for damage I think some of them could be a tad less effective so you wouldn’t have to sit out for an entire melee match if you get hit, as Wolfy mentioned.
RE: I want to be competitive. Where should I practice?
Which region are you from? And you should definitely look into comp. playing! It’s very addictive.
RE: Chivalry: Medieval Warfare CU2 Patch 2
Alright let’s see.
1. Most of the duel maps now have completely black textures. Examples -> Water fountains and the pillars in the dining hall map.
2. This lack of texture seemingly also damaged map layout. If you spawn inside the actual dining room you will not be able to run up the staircase simply because it’s not there. Where there should’ve been a staircase there now is a shadow and just the bare ground.
3. Teamdamage leading to increased respawn timer. Are we for the sake of the lord able to turn this option OFF? This is going to absolutely fuck up some parts of comp. play where I assume that nobody teamkills/damages on purpose. It also used to be a legit tactic to get full HP, if you purposely teamkill a teammate with very low hp.
It’s lovely to see that you guys are working on the game, but you should’ve probably waited a tad longer with releasing the patch. Wouldn’t have damaged anything.
RE: [ALPHA RELEASE 1.01] Chivalry+
This looks a lot more interesting than I previously thought.
Just to get an overview for someone who hasn’t been browsing the forums a lot.
What is the state of Chiv+? Do you still work on it considering you’re no longer in comp. play yourself, Nabster?
And is there by any chance a way to see the whole/part of the change log that contains info regarding said balance (implementing of CFtP, weapon buffs, weapon “fixes”, animation fixes, gameplay changes and so on).
It sure looks like you spent some dedicated time on the mod and obviously I support anyone who’s willing to attempt to give us some more suitable compt. environment. Especially seeing as we’re now going to be delayed from spawning if we teamhit (What the actual fuck, Torn Banner?).
RE: An Idea I'll Get Flamed For
I think what crushed meant is that banning archers would allow the game to become much more about everyone’s skill rather than the teams’ archers’ skills. I think a better balance can be found.
What’s the point in playing Team Objective then if it’s all about the teams melee skill? We may as well only play LTS group fights then.
RE: An Idea I'll Get Flamed For
thats just your oppinion tho, melee only is alot more skill based
Obviously it’s my own opinion but saying alone that “melee is more skill based” is in no way near an argument “tho”.
So you think that arching doesn’t take as much skill? Pff, I don’t know how to respond to that. Neither were you able to counter my argument about Vanguards. What’s the downside of using a shitton of them if there are no archers to shoot them down?
Some of the TO maps are based on the purpose of having archers in them. It’s just not logical to remove them.
RE: Clans Need to Scrim More
First of all thanks for being so elaborative.
Obviously I agree when you say having both is the best solution but Nabsterhax made it sound like he’d rather have it focused on the individual than the teamplay. I believe that finding a middle-ground is the best way to approach a comp. scene but if I have to chose one of the two I’d pick teamplay over the individual. Simply because of the game’s general composition with Team Objective.
I hate to admit it but I also agree on the part with finding the most nasty set-ups. A great example is Jyn O’ (Not sure how spelled) who started using buckler/hatchet and dodges around his opponent meanwhile alt-slashing. It shows how some set-ups are absolutely ridicolous BUT it doesn’t make the game unbalanced because the set-up itself is not that effective, luckily. However it shows very well some of the flaws with the game.
But I think that this all comes down to who wants to win the most. Attempting to find good set-ups was also a thing before the supposed “doom”-patch whereas now it’s just a tad more obvious.
The part about stamina-draining and counter-attacking. I personally feel that if you fight a guy alone for such a big amount of time that he can drain your entire stamina bar, it pretty much only shows that the rest of the team has to come and provide help. Neither do I think I’ve ever gotten stamina drained in a group-fight where it wasn’t my own obvious mistake (feintspammed, feint to parried too much, jumped too much etc).
But here comes the fun part. One of the main arguments for how the game is now is: We are no longer able to fight 1v2-3-4 and come out succesfully." This is based on the lack of CFTP and is also what I disagree with the most in this competitive scene. First and foremost it is a very unrealistic function which was a. not intended b. skips a movement and c. allows for a player to combo with almost or completely no disadvantages since the person can always quickly go to a parry. Sure, people say that it requires a lot of stamina but that doesn’t really matter because mostly you could win the fight by CFTP -> Riposte just a few times.
And I haven’t even come to the in my eyes worst part. CFTP made it a viable option for a player to feint INTO another persons attack which would normally be a hit if it werent for CFTP.
Where on earth is the inituition in that? It just doesn’t make any sense that a player is forced to feint in a situation that seemingly does not require such an action.
RE: An Idea I'll Get Flamed For
Archers are a part of the game and disallowing them would fuck up some defensive play in TO matches. I do agree they shouldn’t be in LTS because that encourages camping but I feel they’re essential in Team Objective. Archers are also great counters to double and triple VG set-ups which can easily wreck a team if not shot at.
