RE: Feinting is not needed.
Remove faints till game works as it should.
I dont know is it netcode or where the problem is, but the game is not that smooth.
Cant really call this a skill based game when so much rely on luck.
“Will i be able to block this next attack? will my enemy take any dmg from my next hit? will my sceen start to shake again when i touch another player? will i get stuck again on some smallest thing?”
Of course this includes lag swings, you see the animation start and you are already taking dmg, this happens way too often even on servers with everyone under 50-80 ping.
When all those have been fixed and the gameplay feels smooth and working, then add faints again, maybe.
175 hours in and faints make me hit an enemy who plays defensively 95% of the time, same goes other way around.
Sometimes i bump into a guy who likes to use faints alot, well i use faints against them too, fights start to go 50/50. He who tries to block the faint, dies.
Cant tell a real swing or a faint from each other, with the torso turning attacks you pretty much have to block every attack you see starting.
Start a normal LMB swing, lets say windup is 0.5 sec, you turn 90 degrees, your blade hits right away when the windup ends.
Try predicting that, is it a faint or a real hit.
I dont see where the skill play comes in when you have to guess when the enemy will make their actual swing and not a faint.
Seems like Chivalry players are divided in two groups; those who think faints are ok and those who think faint are not needed in Chivalry.
I tend to not use faints, i find it stupid and not a working game mechanic.
I think the footwork and torso control is enough for Chivalry, dont forget crouch dodge that every class can use.
I love chivalry but as long as these issues are around, i’ll never play Chivalry competitively.

I love Chivalry but its 50/50 luck/skill
No matter how good you play, this kind of stuff eventually kills you.

Does anyone know a program like this?
What i mean is that if i press W it displays the key stroke W on upper corner of screen or something, also mouse buttons should be displayed if pressed.
I want to record evidence that Chivalry has very unresponcive buttons from time to time.

I dont think the problem is with the weapons, its somehwere else.
I have a lot of videos where my parry just doesnt work even though i aim it at enemies weapon.

RE: Kicking is OP
The “new” kick is useless.
Old kick was too fast but the new kick is just too slow.
I’ve tried it on hundreds occasions to use kick when i saw an opportunity for it, only to fail miserably.
For example: a knight in front of me swinging Maul, i crouch, maul misses, i press kick, maul still missing, knight starts another swing, me as MAA still standing waiting for the kick, i see a leg raise aaand my head explodes.
Another example: I see enemy Vanguard on a ledge not doing anything, he havent noticed me, i run next to him, press kick, same time as i press kick he turns around, sees me and starts LMB swing with Flamberge, the blade hits me before i can finish kicking.
Kick was really nice addition to chivalry and added some immersion too but this new kick breaks all the immersion kick ever had on the game.
Pretty much only time kicks can be used now is if the opponents is running at you from a good distance with a short weapon.
No use kicking knights or vanguards, your leg wont reach.
RE: MAA and Dodge
Im playing MAA almost daily now because i am afraid what they will do to him in the patch.
Knight can already counter MAA with hit trading, just wait till MAA comes in for an attack and start attacking yourself, both will probably take a hit or two but knight survives.
I only survive those situations when game glitches and i take no dmg from the enemies attack, even though it clearly hits me.
