    • RE: Quick Questions

i actually complained about this user name but got no reply.

other than an admin posting in a closed thread, so we couldnt respond, get this: as long as he doesnt act like adolf its live and let live.

so i guess he wont get banned unless he conquers europe.

im dissapointed this farce is allowed to continue as this is clearly a provocative user name.

no really. get a grip admins.

    • RE: Vanguard rant

      @Kimiko:

      No.

They already got nerfed as it is.

let me guess. you play vanguard, no ?

      biased opinion is biased.

maybe you could elaborate on why another nerf is not justified ?

i agree with the OP and think vanguard is overpowered. too little drawbacks for too much power (read: raw damage.)

    • RE: Reduced team damage for MAA

      @UnknownXV:

The problem is you’re playing the Maa as you would a knight or maybe Vanguard. Maa is not meant to be in the cluster of combat. You’re meant to be more sneaky and bluntly, unfair. Use dirty tactics. Go after the weak. Sneak behind the lines and attack people who don’t notice you.

Maa is a glass cannon… but a very fast moving glass cannon.

its not a class cannon. a glass hand pistol at best. cannon implies it does a lot of damage. it really doesnt. the amount of ways to get yourself (accidently) killed is not even funny, and you really dont hit That hard.

    • RE: ARCHER CLASS TIPS FOR MEN

for what its worth, i tried to archer for 2 nights in a row and…

i couldnt hit a cow when sitting on it. how-the-hell do you actually hit someone.

im aiming for another archer who didnt even see me, he turns around, notices me and boom, i miss, he 1 shots me…

      its so hard !!!

so now when i play my Maa and get hit, i salute, well done. how how HOW ?!

    • RE: Balance Discussion

It takes a disproportional amount of skill to use maa compared to knights and vanguards. While they arent unbeatable its still stupid knights can afford that much more mistakes and dont have That many drawbacks. They really arent slow enough to justify the stupid amount of damage they do on maa while still comfortable in their thick armor. I know, “learn to play” but its still 10 times harder than the faceroll knights and vanguards.

    • RE: Knights

let me state right off the bat i play Maa. this implies some bias but ill try to stick to the facts, or as i perceive them.

when a knight meets an Maa in battle a few facts are known. a knights needs 1 hit, possibly 2, but lets for arguments sake make it 1.

an Maa needs 4 hits, possibly 3, but lets keep that at 4.

when face to face, they start trading blows.
now, the knight has 4 chances to deliver a death blow. the Maa has 1 chance, which resets after each succesful hit. the margin for error is alot higher for the knight in this case.

a valid tactic is for the knight to allow the Maa to hit him, as long as he can trade him back with the 1 hit killshot.

imbalance in my view means a disgusting advantage for a certain class. im sure thats not the case. but equal ? hell no.

    • RE: Advice on different classes

cheers for the overwhelming feedback. it feels good to be part of a helpful community.

what exactly is a riposte stab? is it: parry - counter attack?

im afraid they will simply step back like i mentioned earlier and i run into their lmb attack.

    • RE: Advice on different classes

so a few days have passed and i became more experienced. i am now able to actually kill stuff. although i feel like a vulture for scraping off kills from knights who softened up my target.

can anyone tell me the actual advantage of playing Maa?

i get one shotted by almost anything that moves, hit like a goddamn girl (no offence to girls) and still get my ass handed to me by that typical left mouse button masher that - gods honest truth - has no clue wtf hes doing.

Maa is fragile, mobile to an extend - untill you run out of stamina - and can’t take a hit, and has no Real means to put the hurt on another class and utilise the mobility. ( dat stab, miss)

its also typical to see i am usually the only Maa in the field. exceptions not counted.

would anyone be so kind to point out what im possibly missing here?

    • RE: Advice on different classes

Ok thanks so far. I know about dash. I tried forward dash but then i dont have enough time to get out of the way for his new lbm attack. Knights usually step back after a swing, then initiate a lbm swing. If you forward dash into that you get oneshot. Same for vanguard. Ill give the side-dash another go.

    • Advice on different classes

      hi all,

this is my first topic here and i was unable to find detailed information regarding what i want to know.
the problem: i am having great trouble playing as Maa.

im using the nord sword and the heater shield.

from what i understand so far, most of you will start to snigger and think: oh man, you are doing it Wrong !

from my perspective a knight (2 hander sword) simply left mouse with superior range. then i block ofc, but he will be in time for a counter block if i decide to attack after my block, then follow up with a left mouse swing again leaving me 1 shotted.

a vanguard has it even easier, just stab stab. i can dodge/block those too, but i will never be able to close the gap in time and when i do hit, he simply swings and 1 shots me as well.

now, i realise this is obviously over-dramatized and know full well i need to play better.

so here i am, asking for tips. thanks in advance.

    • RE: What do you think is the best class?

i dont understand how anyone can say Maa is the best class. anything over a loud fart will kill an Maa. swinging a large 2 hander with a knight is so much more forgiving.

    • RE: What we are working on!

      @Necramonium:

People need to stop demanding fixes and just wait it out or volunteer to work at Torn Banner Studios to help fixing the bugs. It’s not easy, you need to find the bug, see how and why it reproduces, find a fix for it and than maybe a day has passed and the next bug comes along. Bug fixing takes time. People who think they can demand a developer around need to step the hell back. It’s their game, not yours.

i test software for a living, this man/woman speaks the truth!!
