So this happens with the vanguard as well and archer when his bow is on his back. Been playing those classes lately and noticed it.

Can I get the specks on what causes the stun?
Hey was wondering if i could get exact specs as to what causes my character to get “stunned” or “dazed” after parrying an attack. I know when your stamina is next to zero this happens right? And continued blocking at zero stamina and next to no life causes the attack to penetrate block right? Could we get some official combat mechanics and weapons damage page for this game? (I mean exact specs for head damage with certain weapons, etc…) Thanks for reading.
Standard gettup for each class. And a few sugg.
It would be great if you could setup each class with the weapons you primarily use. So let’s say you’re primarily using the greatsword, dane axe, and throwing knives for vanguard. Well when you get into a game and are in the character selection menu you just click on vanguard and there he is, all set-up like you like him. I think it should still go into the loadout menu in case you want to change something but would be great if he was saved like that.
Spawning with random weapons is sorta… annoying. Like spawning with fists, secondaries, or throwables. Could we spawn with our primaries always or better yet select which item we want to consistently spawn with?
Imo the war-axe should have more stab damage. Right now it stands at 14 for the stab, same as the hatchet. And it’s got that big spike on the end. It’s already a neglected weapon because it’s slower than hatchet without enough reach to grant it enough playability. I think a more powerful stab would balance this weapon out and make it more favored among players, if it were brought up to 21 it would be on par with the morning star stab.
Thanks for reading guys and feel free to comment on this post if you agree/disagree with any of these suggestions.
RE: Feinting Poll
For people voting on “…okay, but in need of some slight tweaks”. What “slight tweaks” are we talking about? There is no way to rework feint without some major tweaks.
i agree with this statement. Feinting works great. People just learning to feint often feint too slowly (they feint their swing but don’t follow up quickly enough) and are feinting the sideswing which unless accelerated or delayed is already easier to read in most situations (and you really would never delay your swing after feinting.). Just a tip, use right mouse button to feint, not q. Right mouse is way more efficient because it enables you to have all your fingers at the movement keys. I didn’t even know you could use right mouse when i started feinting and it was somewhat difficult to retrain myself after using q so much but well worth it.
RE: Initial Impressions - Post here!
My first imppresions were… sweet!, I die alot but when i get to kill somebody with a sword it’s awesome. Keep playing and the game really grows on you. Gonna have to put some time and effort in learning how to master this game folks.
For Devs Eyes Only
I hear alot of complaints about people not being able to block one handed weapons, about feinting being unfair or taking the skill away from the game, etc… And i just wanted to add that I think right now the game is really technical. Sure you have to aim really far to block these delayed falchion swings and when a man at arms gets up close and does look down overheads with his hatchet you better block really fast and aim almost exactly at his weapon but to me that’s what makes the combat of chivalry great. If this is simplified then we’re catering to people who don’t want to learn. We can water down the game but then that’s what you got, a watered down game. Imo all the “class/weapon balance” issues and “block being broken”, etc can be overcome by skill. The best players I have played with don’t complain, they adapt. They improve their blocking and striking, etc. More TO maps would be great though ;) Thanks for reading.
Interrupted attack animations.
When an attack has been interrupted the animation is still showing. This happens frequently and is probably the worst glitch I’ve encountered. Imo this should be at the top of the list to fix seeing as it is frequent and severely hurts combat, especially in multiple character situations.
RE: My ping is too high in Ca in all servers, why is this?
Ok, so eventually I found out that the problem was actually other people streaming things at my house. I was in Redding on vacation and at this particular place if just one computer was on using the wireless connection to watch netflix then chivalry would become unplayable. Also some nights ping was high for no reason at all and I suspected it was high usage in the neighborhood and simply poor wiring or whatever.
