      I still cant comprehend how the game is more bugged than in release.
      I would never buy it in this current state. Its a bug fest.
      How do the devs accomplish that? Did they lose some good devs or what? That cant go on like this man.
      Patches take huuuuge amount of time. In the end its even more bugged. There isnt even a need to beta test for months when in the end shit ends up uglier. Gamebreaking bugs arent getting hotfixed. We have to live for MONTHS with those bugs. One who cares about the game releases a goddamn hotfix.
      The fact that this game was stable at release and now a bugfest after patches, that really makes me sad. Are the devs aware of bugs?…
      Ive never played a game who went more bugged than in release. There are some games that are unstable from the beginning to the end. But from “stable” to unstable, thats something new for me.

      I agree with a couple of the things you’ve said. Chivalry does involve some elements of skill of course, but as long as feints exist (and they will always exist), skill won’t always see you through to victory; the moment you incorrectly guess a feint, you’re one step closer to death, and that’s what the game currently revolves around in higher level play. Age of Chivalry on the other hand, was entirely skill based (and had far fewer exploits for that matter) but it had an extremely high learning curve, far higher than this game, and there were no guessing mechanics involved, you relied entirely on footwork, placement and your ability to quickly maneuver in and out of your opponents range in order to dish out damage without receiving any in return. I think that’s the reason I dislike this particular implementation of a feint mechanic the most, because it takes a massive step down from the skills you learnt in AoC (or M&B for those people that also played this game) to guessing, and it ended up feeling more casual as opposed to competitive with it in the game.

      If Chivalry’s feints were all about changing the direction of your swings using the alt-swing mechanic (and an alt swing mechanic that wasn’t favourable to using one side only because of attacks starting at the wrong angles) and using your parry to rapidly switch sides, as opposed to being forced into a dead state of recovery so you essentially end up being free-hitted, I could see things being a bit more skill based, but that’s not the direction Tibberius chose to go with feints, probably because it would have ended up being too similar to Mount and Blade (and alt swings for Chiv were on the menu, so to speak, in 2011, just not in for release because of the strain on the animators) and I suppose the only other direction left was this one, free hits.

      Those are my personal views anyhow; for the most part, Chivalry is a skill based game, but the inclusion of guessing/mind-game mechanics and over abundance of exploits and bugs drags it down a notch.

      I’ve never played age of chivalry. Since it doesnt have rng mechanics (no feints) does it have parry?
      Otherwise it sounds damn awesome. Maybe I should try it

      Honestly, I am coming to a point where I think why I play this game
      I see no goal. When I bought the game back then I thought this game is skill based and my goal should be becoming a good player.
      Sadly, this game delivers not what I wanted.
      Its an RNG, or GAMBLING game to be short.
      It requires little effort, but a simple press on q to OVERHAUL your enemy.
      Being the ATTACKER means you already won. Theres like 80% chance for the attacker to already win the game, while the defender is about 20%. That role changes when someone succesfully parried. It should never be like that. For a skillful game you need 50%/50%. Currently as attacker you can overhaul your enemy with feints and more feints. YOUR enemy, has to gamble. Either attack, or simply parry.
      Attacks gone pretty much instant with the recent patches (->bugs) I could remember on release that reading feints was A LOT easier.
      Im sitting at 3k kills and 400 deaths in duel mode. You can call me noob or pro. I honestly dont know what I am. The fights are pure RNG. I feint the others to death to be exactly. I just play the attacker and win.
      I can kill pros and pros can kill me. I can kill weaks and weaks can kill me. Thats exactly how it shouldnt be.
      Then we got the huge weapon diversity. Let me tell you that 1 handers pretty much overhauls 2handers. There are only a few viable 2h and the bugged ones. While on the other hand all 1 handers are viable. They deal same damage, they are A LOT faster, they are superior with feints, they have “same” range (when fighting each other, sprint + attack and you reach your opponent).
      Perfect for MAA and their dodge and speed.
      Theres another nice thing torn banners added, for whatever fucking reason.
      Kick stun. I still cant comprehend how insane the devs were to implent something like this.
      ITS A FREE HIT. And its absolutely easy to achieve it. Only MAA are able to counter the kick stun, no other class.
      That 90 degree blocking/parry thing is also insane. You need to fucking block/parry the blade of the weapon, where ever it is. Not the fucking tip. 1h easily force you to dance around.
      That 90 degree wasnt here before the patches. The kick stun wasnt here before the patches.
      I could remember the fights BEFORE THE PATCHES to be fluent and engaging. Sure, feint was there, but people didnt yell “WTF?”, “FUCKING BUG”, “HOWS THAT POSSIBLE?”, etc BEFORE THE PATCHES.
      I dont know how those bugs/mechanics changed/happened. I dont know why a patch takes over 3 months. I dont know why they “beta test” a patch and yet in live version its even more bugged.
      If you want to create a skill based game. Then give EVERYONE the same abilities. Reading feints is impossible, no matter how good you are. You will surrender at last against 1h. you cant read them, especially the late windup feint or combo feints. Outpeforming someone with a gamble system isnt skill based.

      What?? The 1h overpowers the most 2h.
      A skilled 1h is a lot stronger than a skilled 2h user.
      The reach is no problem, especially for maa. They can catch you like using a two hander.
      Damage is same. Speed, thats the great difference

      Toggle sprint works as intended now. If you press shift, you’re in sprint mode - whenever you move forward, you’ll start to sprint. Press shift again and you’re back to walking. Same is true of regular sprinting; if you hold down shift, you’ll always be sprinting even if you stop moving and start moving again.

      Ahhh, this clarifies why each patch gives us more bugs instead of fixes.

      Each patch made the game worse. More bugs, more idiotic mechanics mixed with more bugs.
      The game is utterly unplayable with all this shit happening.
      I bought the game because the game worked back then. It worked to have a competitive fight.
      I would never buy or even tell anyone to get this game in this current build.
      Its goddamn gamble to win a fight with random glitches/bugs whatever they are happening. There are many fucking bugs Im sure I dont have to listen them up. The devs require over 3 months for this little shit called patch. Goddamn, 1 GOOD dev alone could do something more (speaking of fixes) than you all together. Whats next? Another 3-4 month waiting time, for another half assed patch that fixes 0 and brings more bugs?
      The only thing this game could save would be bringing back november build.
      It still had it bugs and flaws, but it was playable.
      Other than this, rest in peace. Showes me that Indie companies can be worse than the big ones.
      Yes, this is a rant. Only because this game got destroyed so damn fast

      The FOV is set to 120 it’s not FOV - the game speed decrease is a probably the effect of changes in other fields (fighting mechanics) I played all day trying to fit in after the patch. I really love this game, but every patch makes it less fun then it was at the beginning me personally think that the first release was the best (if talking game mechanics) everything that people couldn’t handled was ‘patched’ (kick - slower, block - easier, feints) I just want to ask TORN BANNER - PLEASE stop listening to crying community and just do the game your way it was much better before fixing it for the community of cry babies ;/ The very important think about the forums to understand is that it is filled with people who don’t understand the game mechanics and want to make it easier by visiting forum and crying - really a lot of pepole who was pleased with the game don’t look at the forum - why ? Because they are playing and loving the game - you should know that if your happy then your not going to post on forum!!!

      The game was hard, interesting and if you know your way around you could do magic. Now it just feel slow and unsatisfying.
      The kick was fast and dynamic, and you could easily strafe it, the block was hard and needed skill and that was great, the faints are great and dont understand the need of cuntering them ? Just dont block until the real attack or attack yourselves or kick!?!?! I hope the direction of changes in game mechanics will turn 180 degree from slow chess mechanis (withaout timer ;) ) to suppord skilled players with god reflexes like the male combat experince really is - fast thinking, sharp reflexes, good perception, great precision and COLD BLOOD.

      In addition:

      1. The toggle sprint have some issues - after the patch in some cases (don’t know exactly when) after clicking sprint it don’t work (needs to be clicked second time).
      2. I don’t know if it’s only me but i was testing attacks during sprint and the moment I attack there is a little lag at sprinting is this intentional ? (like a leap forward to attack, preceded with a stop in sprint)
      3. Vet helmets started to work for me!
      4. Browser seems fine to me

      Torn you have created the game of my life - stop fixing it the way other wants and start fixing it your way!

      I have almost 700h of gameplay and it was great time i felt like a baby just wanted to play and play… this changes makes that feeling slowly go away… and I would have plaied the first release of the game (talking about the game mechanicks) at least for 10 yeras :) Because it was great like nothing before!I know your a young studio without much experience - but your way is great stick with it!!! I just want to make clear it is not only my opinion but a opinion of a lot of players - which are absent at the forum…

      Whatever will happen these 700h of play time will be with me forever :) best game i ever played! And I’m old :) (Pong, space invaders, ninja mission, bourdel dash, jet set willy, spy vs spy :) )

      I feel exactly the same. Release version was the best and not bug relevant.
      There were flaws, but none were gamebreaking as of now.
      Each damn patch makes the game even more worse. Now for example I cant even join a game due to the fucking new patched browser. Its horrible. Helmets still not working, no sight of working “block” (still the same as before) 1h still got easy to surpass block/parry (due to facehugging?). Ghost attacks, Sudden faster animations (not counting counterattacks) etc.
      Just a little feature of bugs ive never had at release version
      I’d suggest them to rollback to release version (with the new content) and never touch the game again.

      This is a real-time demo. Not rendered target or whatever.
      Which means this is how the UE4 games will look like.

      No game will look like this.
      We could say everything is scripted to look perfectly.
      Realtime gameplay looks sadly different (from animations and shit)
      The graphics are another thing the devs cannot afford.

      And the most important: Consoles are hindering the graphics
