Make sure you have a recent version of directx (get it at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download … aspx?id=35) and that your video drivers are up to date. Other than that, if you have some kind of integrated video card those are known to have issues with games.

Duel is 1v1 non-ranged. Archer is at a disadvantage in that scenario as everybody seems to imply. Why even play archer then? Obviously just to troll and fuck around, because you can. Just get rid of it in duel, it doesn’t belong there.

And you don’t even explain why his proposed feature wouldn’t add depth and market he game unbalanced. If you’re going to assert something like that, then back it up with some reasoning and examples. You’re dismissing arbitrarily, which is fine if you don’t want to make sense.
The same could be said about the opposite. Why do you assume something like breaking weapons and shields adds depth? Just because you add something or involve another factor doesn’t necessarily mean it has good synergy with the rest of the gameplay. Besides, if things are going to break, does that mean they need to be repaired? Oh joy, you get to run back to spawn. I’m sure everybody will appreciate that.

The 200ms no feint window makes it nearly impossible to cancel an attack to save hitting a team mate. Let us cancel attacks in those last 200ms but give a 0.4-0.5s cooldown before you can attack or parry again.
Doing combos now is suicide. The panic parry should be able to be done in the windup of a combo attack (at least I don’t recall being able to do one then)
Remove the facehug collision bubble and instead make the weapon ricochet off the character you’re facehugging (similar to swinging into a wall) and make non-sword weapons (such as ones with poles) only do a little bit of damage, to mimic the effect of only getting hit by the pole of a long weapon.
In addition, longer weapons that would start a stab attack very close to or inside a character model will also ricochet and do less damage, to simulate the effect of a stab with little force behind it.
I’m liking the ideas. I’m not sure how the ricochet would work in practice, but it seems like something to try.
Also in favor of reverting flinch times, nerfing archers, removing the sprint lockout and fixing all the bugs (rank, collision detection, etc).

OT: Welcome to the club. You’ll find many of us agree with you. Also, I have about 60 hours in, and generally do shit in duels, but even I know good flow when I see it. Sure, some things were a little too much, but it’s like throwing an ocean on a campfire to douse it.

People make it sound like taking on 3 people pre-patch was easy. Easier, sure, but it still required good knowledge of the weapons involved and skill to not die. You could also argue that those who did and cried about it should have ‘adapted’, because 3v1 should be enough odds to take down any man. Just don’t run in like a moron and not expect a sword stab in the face. Instead, learn to work as a team to overcome your own limitations. Now it is so that the “team” part is basically just mindlessly landing blows until he runs out of stamina or dies from all the flinching. Oh yeah, much better, because now you don’t have to think.

When a vote is successful it shows some ludicrous number like -30290384982% or something in the chat (“Vote passed with…”).

Join and switch teams with 0 deaths. You could probably keep switching for a lower count. Point is, switching subtracts a death which most likely is intended to negate the death resulting from switching. But since that doesn’t always count as a death (due to already being dead/not having spawned yet) you can get negative numbers.
