RE: Did they change the dof brightness??
its on, in settings anyways
wish i had taken a screenshot before the patch so i could make the comparison
RE: Did they change the dof brightness??
OK now i can confirm they changed something and it looks terrible, at first i thought it was just me but this is way different.
I know how to change my gamma, but how can i make it back to the way it was before, which was allmost perfect.
Did they change the dof brightness??
I got on today to an awsome update, but when i got ingame everything seemed overbright, could be just me but the usual crisp colors that the dof this game had were blasted brighter.
Its hard to see with the fuzz of dof, but i went with it cause it looked great, but when its overbright, like a console game, its not only harder to see over all (even if it is brighter) but its less visualy striking.
Dont want to turn it off, but i might have to, just woundering if it was in the update or not.
Bright and fuzzy is harder to see than dark and fuzzy.
Ive been bouncing around my gamma settings but the perfect default brightness from before just dosent seem to match, it like is either too muted or to blasted.
You know the feeling when you look into a dark room, or whatsupposed to be a dark room, and its obscured, but its obscured in a bright grey? thats the feeling. looks terrible.
How successfull has this game been?
Ive been telling everyone I know about this, and convincing them in heavy detail to get it, most of these guys are people who buy like a 20 dollar game once a year, ive managed to sell at least 4 of them…
ALL in all this game is amaizing, the first real pc multiplayer fps ( or mabey fp… um… wacker?) to come out in a very long time that actualy utilized the platform.
Just woundering how well in sales its doing, and if its doing well enough to contenue to grow.
RE: Improve In-game Voice Communication
I agree, the game needs team comms, and while im sure a lot of people simple dont know how to use the mics, the ingame mics are painfull to hear, they drop audio like a motherfer and bleed all over the place, i can talk to a buddie on ts which is crystal clear, and talk to him ingame which is like robosound rape (no offence, for real, this game is AMAIZING, just a few issues like this to work out.)
Steam comms, which are what this game uses, wouldent have been developed more like implemented, unless my understanding is skewed on that. Ive allways wanted to see what true comm implementation would do for team play and they kinda tried in planetside 2, but all in all most games that have comms work through a third party voip service.
It makes perfect sense this would use steams comms, it is a steam game, but it would be nice if the quality on the transmision was improved to the point of usability.
Usability, beyond yelling insults btw, cause rightnow thats all its good for, you cant be tacticle about anything a cause of the global(though you know, thats not the end of the world) and b cause you can barely understand anyhting anyone is saying.
Now I have a good desktop mic, its clear and precise as it needs to be, but if my mic plays back misrably in game, you can imagine what it sounds like when people with poor headset mics try and talk.
RE: Did anybody see the review in PC Gamer magazine?
I suppose its a good score under normal circumstances as games go, but in context, remember these are the a–holes who give games like mass effect 3 a 91 or gears of war a 90… ie games with no concept of gameplay whatsoever that have no real buisness being on the PC.
Here we have a game that has a true pc control scheme and realy utilizes the keyboard and mouse for the epic precision it requires. And to boot, not only do they update the game (for real, not just a pointless patch that makes the game run choppy), but they provided a through settings menue and the game is well optimised… a pc game through and through is rare, and console whores like PC gamer could give less than a sh-- about one of the few games to actualy fit the medium in years.
Improve In-game Voice Communication
Wasent sure wither to post this into the ideas and suggestions or the general discussion, I suppose a suggestion would be to say add team comms like CS or aa3; but more to the faarrr more important matter, are you going to fix the quality?
As it stands, the in game voice comms are atrocious, even with a properly calibrated mic, it comes out so sharply garbled its painfull, i havent seen audio so bad in comms since when they started doing it in the first counterstrike.
I know cs source had acceptable voip, not great like some of the ones that use ts3, but ok none the less. So its possible to do decent voip over steam, but as it stands its goddddd awfull.
With decent comms, the game would be much more fun, being able to yell insults and agknowlegments in real time, rather than type them, I mean, thats a given. Team comms would allow for coordination, also a given, which given that a lot of this game has a tactical nature, would be nice.
Yhea you can use Teamspeak or ventrillo, but that realy only reaches the players you know, or whatnot, and it just makes sense that you should be able to fluidly comunicate with everyone.
Anyhow, just woundering if that was somthing they were working on. I know a lot of the (super gay ass) console ports dont even bother, but given that this isnt that, and allready we are seeing a whole level of support I figure mabey this just might be a glitch they havent had the time to work out, and isnt something they actualy indended.
