    • Proximity Mic

      I know games like Rust has them, and yes i know i have brought this up before, and yes i know chivalry used to have a in game mic, but is there any chance you guys can put proximity mics in the game? it would just add some fun banter between you and someone you’re fighting. or to be able to tell a teammate to look out or duck.

      im not sure how much work it would require TBS to do but just a thought.

    • RE: Do you feint in pubs?

      @Karasu:

      Flippy and Zeek, please avoid using any insults. Zeek, people who feint aren’t assholes, they’re just playing the game.

      AGAIN i will type this out slower for you guys to understand….

      I have NO PROBLEM with people who feint in a fight

      ITS the people who feint MULTIPLE times in ONE fight against ONE player that “I” see as assholes.

      That is my personal opinion on the matter. there is no reason to quote me and tell me to stop crying about a IN game mechanic. Its like having someone use the same kick or punch move in street fighter that doesnt allow you to recover or move. Yes they won, but they do it cheaply.

      you sit there and say i should be able to know when a feints coming. but i dont play the game competitive or serious. i play it for fun. as many others do as well. half the fricken people who play this game at night are usually smoking up during it or drunk anyway. so i can imagine those reflexes lol.

      And may i add. feinting against a Vet player isnt the same against feinting a newer player multiple times. theres being used to it and learning to adjust, and then theres getting on for the first time and only seeing the game full of competitive players who care more about thier k-d then anyone elses enjoyment in the game.

      700 + hours i never give a crap about being the best or my k/d, but only having a good time. play how you want ill play how i want. i chose my own view of respect and honor when i play. half the time i usually need to feint someone i chose to let them know im sorry in the chatbox. but thats how I play. if that makes me a terrible player then so be it.

      @Flippy:

      So by your logic anyone who uses any basic mechanic in any way you deem unfair is an asshole. Fuck those rocket jumpers in TF2. God damn strafe jumpers in Quake.

      Maybe if you spent your first 100 hours playing using feints instead of crying about them you’d be able to deal with them better.

      734 hours thank you.
      and i never played TF2 or Quake. But i tell you what i notice about chivalry. Community respect. challenging someone to a fist fight in a pub match and them accepting it, seeing someone fighting an enemy and giving them the respect to finish their epic fight before i rush in swinging. The general Respect i have seen in games is what makes this game better for me. as people above have stated, when they come across certain players they act differently.
      SO YES i stick by my post. IF i fight someone, newb or vet and they feint once during a fight, ok so be it. But if EVERY single move they use has 1-2 feints in it before a swing then they are just a asshole. but u know what else is a asshole move? Calling out someone saying they are “crying” about it because they give their 2 cents about a public forum topic. stay classy my friend and keep going on public servers and the public forum being a prick to people. :)

    • RE: Do you feint in pubs?

      i usually feint when someone feints me first or the game is full of feinters and i get annoyed. then again if we are losing and we have to push the enemy back i will feint to get in one hit. i personally feel if you feint more then once during a fight with a player, you’re a asshole.

      on the other hand sometimes i do feint someone during a fight BUT i never take my 2nd swing. i feint then back up to throw off the tempo or get a min to recoop.

    • Starting up chiv on my computer

      So i know its not only me, as others have said they have the same problem. I sometimes just dont want to play chivalry cause the loadup time is worst then the 90s playstation loading screens. I gotto wait like 5-10 min to get into a game. Now you can insult my computer all you want but NONE of my other games takes that time. from battlefield, rust, l4d, etc. If there is a way to fix this let me know cause ive done safe mode and 32bit option but still takes forever. it honestly makes me not want to play sometimes. The other thing is Alt-tabbing. EVERYTIME i alt tab the game crashes. this game never had these problems when i first got it.

    • RE: My thoughts on what TBS needs to do…

      @PooDawg:

      whenever someone suggests dual wielding I just laugh to myself and imagine they have been watching too much star wars

      Go google Dimachaerus Gladiators. Cause if star wars is the only knowledge you have of dual wielding melee weapons you really need to stop watching those sad excuse for prequels and actual learn something. Dual wielding has been used a few times in history. not so much in on field combat as a sword shield and spear though. But let me guess your next argument is “it wouldnt be useful in chivalry” TO which i say to you, cause a dagger can block a overhead maul swing right? So anyone whos going to say some stupid excuse like that to me can save it. THIS game isnt realistic but its fun, it has a fun combat system no matter how many bugs and annoyances there are we all enjoy it.

      now just for shits n giggles, how could someone use dual weapons in real life, or better yet, in game?? one hands for defense the other is for offense. if you use chivalrys ALT swings to swing the other hand instead of making it just defense. it would add a unique fighting style. Lower the percentage for flinching, and lower the power of each weapon and i think it would be a interesting idea.

      And SLYGOAT. im not on these forums enough to know no one has asked recently. Doesnt mean you shouldnt consider the idea still.

      and as “COD” as it may be. after you unlock all the weapons theres nothing to really chase afterwards except a gold helmet….why not do 50ShadesofClay idea but make it so….get 5,000 kills with one weapon and you get a golden plates one lol. or new character / weapon skin unlocks in general for reaching certain marks.

      few people mentioned fire arrows…why not let a archer with 5,000 kills get access to them? or something like that.

      Thanks for replying.

      imo for the dual wield. even if it wouldnt fit into the game. it would still draw attention. or let a player just have some fun with it. it doesnt need to be a game changing weapon. torn banner still needs to make money, so why not let people hop on chivalry and imagine their gannicus. a MAA would be effective in dual wielding hopping in and out, nothing would change. Then again i havent played DW so im not sure how their mechanics work for their vikings either. but a low power, fast speed percentage to each weapon would make em fun to use. like 2 powered down norse swords. just a thought.

      survival mode i meant online, not single player. That would be boring as hell.

      someone told me to just come on the forum and express my opinion so there it is. thank you for updating me on things that have already been addressed. im looking forward to seeing them hopefully soon.
